I should have my 65 Impala done in a few days so I'm going over the 60 Chevy pickup to see what I'm got done and where to start next.  I'm open for suggestions on the interior fellows.

Here's a pic of the basic interior in the pickup.  The seat has a nice texture look to it kinda like a tweed.  Couldn't get a picture that close with my phone.

Zip, you might want to do some test fitting of the interior WITH the windshield in place, its a bit snug to say the least.

Thanks Bob, I'll keep that in mind.

Been a little busy tearing down old sheds and putting up new.  I'll be back at it in the near future.

Got to do some work on my pickup this morning so I thought I would try a little foil work as it seen to go pretty good on my 65 Impala.  Not the same results on my pickup. The foil looks wrinkled when I peel it off the sheet and did not want to stay down at all.  If I touch it, it will come up.  Very disappointed.  Haven't decide if I'm going to tear it off and just paint it.

A lot of builders are complaining about quality issues with Bare Metal Foil lately and this maybe what they are talking about. I'm still using foil I bought a couple of years ago and haven't had any problems myself but I'm worried about the future with the foil problems. Might be time to try one of the spray paint options.

Ditto here, but masking and spraying trim, especially around windows....I just don't know?

Moving slow on this one.  Got a little painting done this morning before I get on the Honey do's.  I stole the "Thrift Master" decals from the 50 Chevy parts box and the chrome air breather from the 67 Chevelle parts box.

I feel the same way, it's not something I have ever done but I'm now considering it. This is based on a video attached to a build that is in the Under Glass Section on the forum. A new member here posted a beautifully done '69 Camaro there. Doublyyoung 200 is new to the forum and along with several pictures of his build he included a video showing how he built the model along with a lot of good information on the painting of the body along with a demonstration on how he painted the window moldings. This got me to thinking this is something I should try with all the issues everyone is having with foil right now. I suggest watching his video and see if that isn't something to consider.

That's interesting, I'll try to find it.

The last time I looked it was on the second page.

Just looked at it David. LIN does beautiful models.  The chrome trim process does look very good but wow, that  sure is labor-intensive.

Yeah that trim painting does look like a lot of work but it is an option.  Boy.....what a steady hand he has for the detail on the door panels.

Thanks Mike and James.  I saw HL had the 50 Chevy in stock when I was there but just not ready for another one just yet.

Hi Bob, this is coming along nicely.

Everyone has an opinion on foil and the formula” that works for them. Personally, I like to clear coat my bodies after I have foiled. The foil is then “sealed” by the clear. In my opinion, this aids to keep the foil protected, and helps prevent foil from lifting. I also know there are many that swear by doing the foil last, people do what works best for them. I’m curious what you use to burnish your foil down. I highly recommend the pointed Tamiya “Qtips”, there are three sizes, and they are perfect for burnishing foil into the crevasses, and aid in working out any wrinkles. Just my two cents.
Cheers, Steve

Thanks for the info Steve.  The are not Tamiya but I do use the pointed Qtips and a toothpic.  This section of the bmf sheet seem to really be bad.  The first time I used a section off the sheet it didn't wrinkle up but this time it did.  Don't know what the difference is but it just would not lay down very good.

I found a little time this morning to do some work on the 6 banger.  I thought I was going to get it done but I don't have any wire insulator that is the right size for the plug boots.  I'll have to make a trip to to see what I can find.
