seabiscut88 Posted September 15, 2021 Posted September 15, 2021 Spent today prepping and painting a new project 48 Ford kit from Grease. Not the best at gluing pieces together once they are painted so I try and get as much glued together as I can then paint it all. 1
slusher Posted September 16, 2021 Posted September 16, 2021 Nice color, did you have to strip it from the picture above..
seabiscut88 Posted September 16, 2021 Author Posted September 16, 2021 No I got them out of order?♂️?♂️ First time taping and painting some other colors on the body and really pleased with how it came out! Think of a few things to do different/better next time but happy with how it came out
Zippi Posted September 16, 2021 Posted September 16, 2021 NIce looking so far Colin. The color looks pretty good.
espo Posted September 16, 2021 Posted September 16, 2021 Nice Blue color, looks somewhat like the Ford Washington Blue of that era. Fat Fendered Fords look great in the darker colors to my eye anyway.
seabiscut88 Posted September 16, 2021 Author Posted September 16, 2021 I will have to read the can again when I get home. it’s a Duplicolor dark blue for some Toyota (?) is what I remember. I did have time to add some silver details. First time adding any stripes ans happy with how it came out so far! Have it lightly held together for a quick picture but will get back to some more detailing work this evening or weekend I hope.
seabiscut88 Posted September 16, 2021 Author Posted September 16, 2021 Wow… sorry meant to post that earlier. Busy day… here is the color
David G. Posted September 17, 2021 Posted September 17, 2021 That color looks right for the era, great choice. David G.
Zippi Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 Couple questions.....did you prime the body before you shot the color on and was the body trim painted or is the bmf?

Yep! I used a duplicolor white primer. I can’t seem to get BMF to stick right and not have creases in it but I tried painting this time. Used Tamiya tape and had good luck with it not bleeding but could have put the tape on a little better. First time trying this so lesson learned
doorsovdoon Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 Gorgeous colour, the roof colour works good with it too. I never thought brown and blue would work together but look great from here, I like it.
