I have a couple of their 1/12 1965 Mustang fastbacks but not enough to build one. I do know that the Revell issue is the same tooling.

I first learned about these kits back in the early 70’s. Too late to easily find and buy them. I’ve been lusting for all 7 ever since. Maybe I’ll see them and get them in the afterlife?

I have the Stutz, though it could do with a little restoration.  The thing about the kit that really impressed me at the time was just the whole idea of making updated versions of old classics.  I think I spent that whole summer with books of old cars and a stack of paper drawing up modern versions

Cool. Any of those old drawings still around that you can show us?

Of all of them, Packard WAS building cars only eight years prior.  Of course, the end product was the Sixties equivalent of a Cadillac Cimarron, but it was only meant as a placeholder until Studebaker-Packard could get funding in place to build "real" Packards once again.  Which, of course, never happened.

Interesting that Exner didn't take a swing at a Cord, technically one of the most interesting Thirties cars.  Glenn Pray did build a miniature replica...but if you really think about it, Oldsmobile did a better job with their attempt in 1966...

Any 3D printing auto model  enthusiasts out there contemplating reviving (if you will excuse the pun)  the Exner Revivals ?

An ideal opportunity to remake kits of those vehicles with better detailing than before.

I really like the looks of the Mercer roadster! Sharp looking car. Hard to believe that it has been longer since the revival, than the revival was from the original.

Like the Bugatti revival, the Mercer kit was based on an actual vehicle. The Mercer Cobra was a concept car built on a Shelby Cobra chassis.  It was created as a promotional tool for the Copper Development Association to illustrate the potential uses of copper alloys for automotive trim.
