kpnuts Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 Hi all got this back out of the shed, can you guess what I'm going to do with it.
absmiami Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 Appears to be 12th scale …. Did you get your hands on a CMA Ford GT kit - I didn’t think any of those actually existed …. It’s too detailed to be that 12th scale kit from five years ago - and that’s more than five years of dust collecting there - I do like riddles - I like beer too … 1
vamach1 Posted October 5, 2021 Posted October 5, 2021 I assume a diecast but how did it end up stored without being in a box or at least a bag to keep it the dust out?
jaymcminn Posted October 5, 2021 Posted October 5, 2021 Pretty sure that's the Trumpeter 1/12 scale. The tires are a dead giveaway. Looks like a proper barn find as is!
kpnuts Posted October 5, 2021 Author Posted October 5, 2021 It is the old trumpeter kit that's just over a Yr of dust from my shed (ido my spraying in the shed)

JohnnyK Posted October 5, 2021 Posted October 5, 2021 Your model is the Trumpeter kit from a few years ago. Compare the wheels to the wheels on my build below. What are you going to do with your model?
kpnuts Posted October 6, 2021 Author Posted October 6, 2021 Hi all well it cleaned up fairly well, just got to strip the paint next. What I'm planning involves using these
Len Woodruff Posted October 6, 2021 Posted October 6, 2021 Looking forward to seeing what you do with this "re-build".
Venom Posted October 7, 2021 Posted October 7, 2021 Aha!..... I think you are going to turn it into this....???
kpnuts Posted October 7, 2021 Author Posted October 7, 2021 Sorry venom nope. I have it stripped (now just have to strip the paint off.
JohnnyK Posted October 7, 2021 Posted October 7, 2021 This should be interesting. Once I tried to use lacquer thinner to strip paint from a plastic part. Not only was the paint removed, but the plastic part dissolved into goo. Live and learn.
kpnuts Posted October 9, 2021 Author Posted October 9, 2021 I found something better to power the GT40 than some marker pens and some plumbing spares.
Bugatti Fan Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 (edited) As John McKenroe once said 'You can not be serious!' Reminds me of Stefano Marchetti's Sci Fi models of a Mag Lev Bugatti and a Harrier jet powered Ferrari that appeared at Telford a few years ago. Edited October 13, 2021 by Bugatti Fan
kpnuts Posted October 23, 2021 Author Posted October 23, 2021 I knew this wouldn't please everyone (been unwell lately) but will be continuing soon.
kpnuts Posted October 24, 2021 Author Posted October 24, 2021 Here's a quick mock up ( I'm thinking of using some led's and have it hovering) Can't decide on colour gold, blue or pink. 1
kpnuts Posted June 2, 2022 Author Posted June 2, 2022 Hi all back on this, ive decided which way im going, lots to do yet but I hope you can see where it's going. 1
Chris Smith Posted June 3, 2022 Posted June 3, 2022 Very interesting and cool idea! Looks like the mandalorain needs a classic ride
