happy grumpy Posted October 21, 2021 Posted October 21, 2021 When I was growing up , this was a familiar sight, pick ups back then were used and abused. The only time they were shiny was out of the showroom floor, after that it was go to work and forget about detailing. Nowadays it looks like pick ups are used to just get there . Pick ups were just tools, now they are awesome .... and pricy For this one I used the hair spray technique, it works great. Acrylic over lacquer base. The little shack is sometime used as background for this kind of build, it add to realism. The leaves in the bed are real leaves after a spin in a blender. 2 1
Zippi Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 Nice looking little grociery getter there Grumpy. I like the weathered look and the photos look great with the back drop. Very nicely executed.
TarheelRick Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 Excellent weathering on this beautifully built F1. Photography is also on the spot. Saw a lot of these in my younger days, one thing though is most of the ones I remember had some kind of dent along the top of the tailgate. Really like this build.
Oldcarfan27 Posted October 30, 2021 Posted October 30, 2021 Leaves spun in the blender - with a great idea! If my wife caught me doing that, I'd be the LATE Mr. Oldcarfan27! ?
Scott8950 Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 It's very realistic and the leaves are a nice touch. Very nice job
