We had two come through our property and one pulled down the bird feeder.  Fairly common I am told, young males in late spring.  That is why I won't leave the dogs loose in the yard.

The story about Bears and Bird Feeders has me wondering about something that has happened to us. We just moved to a newly developed area alongside a Golf Corse with a lot of open Farm land and a good sized creek running alongside the street on the side of our home. I like to put out bird feeders since I enjoy hearing the Birds singing. I had one feeder knocked down twice and I had to nail it back together and put it back up. Next time it was knocked down what ever was doing this also bent over the Sheppard's Hook that it was hanging from. This would have taken an animal of some size and weight and bigger than the Racoons that I was thinking of.  Yesterday morning I looked out and something had gotten the Suet Black that I had up for the birds.

Just think if that gate had been you. bears are mean creatures. Yesterday I was headed out to get in my truck, dang bobcat cat was lying under the bed, he took off real quick, probably scared me more than him.

we have bears and bobcats too,

my neighbor raises chickens and turkeys so my biggest pest is coyotes cutting across my property on their way to their house
