brian falcone
Finally wrapped this one up. Built box stock . I removed 10mm from front axle and tie rod to bring the front wheels back into reality. Painted the same colors as my autocar dump to match the trucks that haul out of the pit near my dads house when I was a kid in rhode island. I also rebuilt the front nose hinge as the stock one was badly warped. Used the mudflaps snd mounts on the back of the chassis and omitted the fenders .I didnt enjoy building this one.... Cab and nose did not line up without serious trimming of the hood and removal of slots under cab. I felt instructions were poor and lots of parts just didnt fit well. This will be getting a dump trailer to pull at some point. Working on a custom cable shovel next as amt most likely will never make the link belt speeder excavator. 1959scudetto
Very impressive, Brian ! Looks much better than mine with those ugly fenders: I will omit them when reworking mine. Though more than 35 years ago, I remember fitting issues with the butterfly hood/fender combination, shortening the front axle is also a thing that I will do in the future. rekcirb13
Brian, you did a great job with a very difficult model. I've built several, so I know what you had to deal with. Bob
