Megahobby site still has it scheduled for June of this year. I'm thinking they will change it after the holidays.

Since it's already July, I would surely hope so! ?

Yup, exactly.

Anyone else disappointed?

Don't you see it? Round 2 already has another reissue planned in the future. At that time it can include nothing more than Coke logos and these graphics on the decal sheet.

That way they can get us to buy another round of kits.

BRILLIANT IDEA!!

I seem to recall in the 1980s there was an American television show that involved either park rangers or California police that had a Bronco like this in it. I recall it my have starred Mark Harmon from the NCIS show of today. Is this an accurate memory? If so that could be a fun project if decals could be found or made.

The show was 240-Robert. From the same team that brought us "CHiPs". They were the LA county Sheriff's department search and rescue team, show ran from 1979-1981. The first season used a '79 Bronco, the subsequent seasons used an 1980 Bronco, of which I believe Revell offered a model of.

I'd like to see the decal sheet, as Chad's quick glimpse of the bottom of the box looks like it won't have the "Free Wheelin'" decals we thought it would have. Looks like it may be these.

I actually prefer these over the Free Wheeling decals. To me the FW decals are too much and gaudy looking.

Apparently I misunderstood, the ones in the kit are the 1978 Free Wheeling decals, whereas the 1979 version are the larger ones that most people recognize.

Other than the decals, what's the difference between 78 and 79?

I was just thinking that same thing. You could say the round vs. rectangular headlights but it is my understanding that ford changed them somewhere around midyear '78.

As far as I know, the 1978 "base models" broncos & trucks had the round headlights, but the "up-levels(?)" had the square headlights.

All the 1979 broncos & trucks had the square headlights.

Hard to tell in that picture the size and type of tires on your Bronco, can you share with us? Scenes Unlimited carries some larger off road tires but he is currently closed due to some health reasons but hopes to be back soon. Fireball Modelworks also carries some bigger tires and I think he has some new ones coming that might work.

I wish I could remember the size I had this back in 1985 just can't remember it was a 79 with square headlights.

I will check with Fireball and Casey.

Thank you.

Exactly. The lower level models had round and the upper models had square. Chevy did the same thing for 1980.

Dodge did it too. For the vans at least.

My uncle had a 1980 Dodge van conversion. Custom interior and paint, but dog dish caps and round headlights. Guess he didn't want to pay for custom wheels.

These wheels and tires are from a Monogram Ford F-150 High Roller kit. The tires are too big. But, the wheels are about as close as you're gonna get.

Those wheels do look very close but those High Roller kits are considered vintage kit now. You see them pop up from time to time on Ebay and the like. If you want one you better be willing to shell out some serious cabbage. ?

That is one sharp looking Bronco model!   Really, really well done!  Congrats to you Roger or if you did not build it, to whoever else did it....TB
