426 pack Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 About 6 months ago I purchased a 1971 Plymouth valiant with a 340/727 and have been using the Chrysler kit car that you could buy straight from Chrysler as my inspiration for the build and it just so happens that AMT make a kit of the car I’m using for inspiration so it’s a no brainer to build a model of my car. My car will be running the 340 with either a 5 or 6 speed transmission, Ford 8.8 rear end with coil overs and 4link, tubular front suspension and a full roll cage and frame ties similar to the one in the kit (I want to race the car) and I don’t plan on painting the car. I’ve already started doing some serious scratch building on the 1/1 due to front frame and floor rust due to the sunroof that someone cut into the roof I will be doing as much as I can with the 1/25 scale version as I’m doing on the 1/1. I am using the 340 from an amt 71 Plymouth duster kit, doing the same patina and building the 4 link suspension as well as much more that I’m sure will change with the 1/1. thanks for looking and stay tuned for updates on both the 1/1 and 1/25 scale valiant’s 1
Jonathan Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 Epic project! "Plymouth" is stamped/etched into the frame? Wow!

Thanks, the frame rails are 1/8” 2x4 square tubing with a 1/8” plate on the out side that I got cut to shape on a plasma table and decided it would be cool to get Plymouth cut in it so it’s that extra bit unique.

That's the coolest thing I've seen in a while!
beeRS Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 Wow. A 1:1 build thread and 1:25 at the same time! You really have your work cut out. Looking forward to seeing both.
mustang1989 Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 Oh HELL yeah!! I'm DEFINITELY in on this one!!!!
Mattilacken Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 By the way! Really cool 1:1, make sure to use rust preventive that creeps in betwen your beauty plate and the beam so you wont have rust running out of there
