Mopar - D Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 For this year’s BRBO I’m using the Revell KW dump truck kit for my cab that’s going to pull a detachable lowboy with a Mack DM 600 steel hood/Challenge mixer. Today I started working on frame for the KW. 1
Bills72sj Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 I am still trying to get a mental picture of what seems to be a very ambitious build. Good Luck (and following) 1
Warren D Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 So if I'm following this, the KW cab from the dump truck goes on the Mack chassis, the cab of which replaces the KW cab on the mixer kit.

Warren I’m turning the Revell KW dump truck into just a cab that will tow the lowboy that I’m going to carry the Mack/Challenge mixer on. I will be busy building the KW cab, detachable lowboy, Mack DM 600 with a steel hood and with the Challenge mixer.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 Very cool project!! Can’t wait to see where this one is going! What are you going to do with the dump bed???

What are you going to do with the dump bed??? Thanks Brian. The dump body is already on the Big Horn dump truck. Back when Revell reissued these kits I picked up 3 of them and have used 2 of them so far on the Big Horn and the Brockway. I have not decided what I’m going to do with the last one yet but it’s going to be a Super Bee Trucking dump truck lol.

You don’t know how many parts boxes I had to go through to get all the parts together for this one. This was the donor for the Big Horn that I built 8 years ago and never had any plans to use the left over parts until now and over the years I have just kept adding to my parts boxes that are not in any kind of organization. lol
redneckrigger Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 Looks to be a build, or three, worth following!
Mopar - D Posted January 11, 2022 Author Posted January 11, 2022 Thanks Tom yes it’s going to be a least three for now but my build last year started out as two and ended up with four lol.

Mopar - D Posted January 12, 2022 Author Posted January 12, 2022 I’ve been able to get white primer on the frame and cab and have pretty much finished the engine and painted green on the rims. I’m trying this Krylon Paint + Primer and it’s drying very slow but it seems to have covered the blue plastic pretty good.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 I think that you must have an assembly line over there.? Looks great so far!!

Mopar - D Posted January 14, 2022 Author Posted January 14, 2022 The weather warmed up here and I’ve been able to get some spray painting done. I decided to go with some rear fenders. I’m also going to add a headache rack behind the cab. I still have to paint the front fenders and finish the fuel tanks. Here’s my progress mock up pictures. 1
Mopar - D Posted January 14, 2022 Author Posted January 14, 2022 Thanks Sam yea it’s the first one for this company. I have ideas for more to add to it.
tbill Posted January 15, 2022 Posted January 15, 2022 Looks great so far, and I am really digging your color scheme, I like putting two or three ‘odd’ colors together.
