absmiami Posted February 21, 2023 Author Posted February 21, 2023 Gracias so i finally got some dark green onto the body - its the Model Master Japanese Navy Green fr some old stock - a lucky find …
absmiami Posted February 21, 2023 Author Posted February 21, 2023 The reviews are mostly good …. Lines reasonably sharp - some bleed over - will let everything dry Ten days and ponder some corrections - touch ups will be tricky because the light green won’t cover the dark - we’ll see …
absmiami Posted February 21, 2023 Author Posted February 21, 2023 Its not always appreciated how great the finishes and paint schemes of old Indy cars because we didnt have color film til a few years before i was born…
Pierre Rivard Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 Nice to see color on the little Miller. Suggestion about touch ups. Fine tip brush to touch up over dark green bleed through with a bit of acrylic silver, then cover with your light green.

absmiami Posted February 22, 2023 Author Posted February 22, 2023 Gracias one and all -back to the engine whilst the enamel dries …. Gotta make 8 spark plugs - .06 tube + .08 nuts + a short section of steel wire wound into something that looks like insulation for the plug … optivisor all the way …. 1
Straightliner59 Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Ah! Your scratchbuilding is awesome! Truly a man after my own heart!
Pierre Rivard Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Hey those spark plugs look a lot like ... spark plugs! Well played.
absmiami Posted February 24, 2023 Author Posted February 24, 2023 Once the plugs are in - the plug wires are next - the size is .011 - bout 5/16 in 1 to 1 - thats about right- although they look undersized - thats the scale playing tricks on us …
absmiami Posted February 24, 2023 Author Posted February 24, 2023 This shot fr the Brumos sort of illustrates the relative size of the wires …
Pierre Rivard Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 I think the plug wires look spot on for scale. Most of the supply is usually about 0.016 and that always looks a bit oversize in pictures. This is better.

Nacho Z Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Wow, Andrew! I’m just catching up on this thread. I’m a little behind on multiple builds that I was following. Anyhow, some spectacular work going on here. I appreciate all of the work going into this. Well done!
absmiami Posted February 27, 2023 Author Posted February 27, 2023 Nach - your Matra is coming together nicely - Here’s a mockup of the trans case in the frame - Miller was an early adopter of designing parts to do multiple tasks - so the casing serves as the base for the steering links and posts …. The pedals were brushed with Molotow - might dull The finish down - the pedals on the Jr Special appear to be steel but not really polished ..
Randy D Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 Looking good Counselor, love those colors. Randy
