mrmike Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 This is my Hunter's 1977 Dodge Monaco. It is painted with Tamiya TS-43 Racing Green with a Tamiya AS-15 Tan interior, a 2 way radio and an red emergency light. I would like to thank all those who have taken the time to view and to comment on my WIP. 2
bisc63 Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 Turned out nice! Fun build to watch come together.
mrmike Posted January 24, 2022 Author Posted January 24, 2022 Thank you Bill and Rusty! This was a fun build. and I finished it during a Club sponsered Build-A-Thon on Sunday. I foiled and polished and fitted a few remaining pieces during that time.
bluestringer Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 Looks great. Nice work. Always did like that show.
happy grumpy Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 That's a great looking monaco. I wonder why MPC never offer the fury it would have required a minimum change to build either a dodge or plymouth.
espo Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 Great looking build. Clean looking finishes and paint.
NYLIBUD Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 (edited) Nice,I love police cars. This is my Greenlight 1/18th scale version that I picked up at a swap meet.Brand new in the box. Edited January 24, 2022 by NYLIBUD
mrmike Posted January 25, 2022 Author Posted January 25, 2022 Thank you James, David, Mario and Ron! The MPC Dodge Monaco had its roots in the TJ Hooker Police Car from the early 80s. There is more than just swapping the grille and rear bumper. The Plymouth Fury had a different interior compared to the Dodge Monaco. The Yodel Monaco/Fury kits shared everything, but the grille and bumpers to save money. It was primarily a motorized model.
carrucha Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Nice work. One of my favorite cop shows from the 1980's.
NYLIBUD Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 (edited) I forgot, I also have, what i think is a 1:32,or a 1:64th scale diecast Hunter car..I can remember how I use to watch that show with my father whenever it was on. Edited February 3, 2022 by NYLIBUD
mrmike Posted February 3, 2022 Author Posted February 3, 2022 Thank you, Ron! Nice Dodge Monaco! Looks to be a Hot Wheel size die cast. Most likely a 1/64 scale. Thank you, Chris!

polybius Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Great build of the Yodel kit as L-56! It'd look right at home next to the L-57 Turbo Z or Shelby Z ?
