Butter 1 Posted May 4, 2022 Posted May 4, 2022 Very impressive. Right down to the very realistic aluminum weld beads on the valve covers and headers.
charlie libby Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 first time here dave , but i will surely be back. incredible workmanship. truly a work of art.
Lobo2me Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 Fantastic! I only built one 1/8th model in my life and that was Monogram's E-Type in the mid-60s. Sadly, now I don't have the workspace, display area, or the brain power to take on a challenge like this. But I am really enjoying following your amazing work. Thanks!
comp1839 Posted May 7, 2022 Author Posted May 7, 2022 Francis, thanks. i hope you're right. Tom, thank you. Steve, thank you. Thanks Ron. Thanks Charlie. Steve, 1/8 scale now fits my life style more than ever.....old and slow!!!
GoatGuy Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 Dave, so great to see your latest posts on this car. FANTASTIC. I remember seeing your cars in person at a show near Pottstown. It might have been 2013? Very inspiring. Dave

Codi Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Goodness gracious Dave.........the frame is beautiful in paint & I love the color you picked. It sets off all the beautiful pieces you've fabricated. You're excited now I can see and moving VERY rapidly. So worth it to see you pull this project forward and complete it, you've got to be stoked. Cheers, tim
Lobo2me Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Thanks for the excellent shots of this epic build. Amazing! Can't wait for your next update.
jasoncamaro Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Wow Dave ! That looks like it’s not far away from hitting the track !
AmericanMuscleFan Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Such a beautiful build Dave, it would have been sad not to finish it (at least move the project forward), quality takes time, the results so far are spectacular !!!
comp1839 Posted May 21, 2022 Author Posted May 21, 2022 thanks Tim!!! you always motivate me. thanks Steve. thanks Jason, every once in a while it's not long before it hits the floor!!!! hehehe thanks Francis. there was so much time and effort in it already i knew i had to finish it. i guess i'll just have to wait and build a super killer 1/8 scale version of my '37 now. spent the better part of the day making decals, nitrous valves, gauges, and tie rods. got the sparky plugs wired too. 2
Chris Smith Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 Wow, just wow! I have admired your craftsmanship for a few years. And as always I’m blown away with what you can produce. thank you for sharing.
comp1839 Posted May 27, 2022 Author Posted May 27, 2022 i came upon some pics of the rear housing i made for this one. i turned some spindles out of brass(i was going to make the rear work but later canned the ideaa) cut some axle tubes, cut the individual plates and the soldered her all up. 2
AmericanMuscleFan Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 That's what I call an heavy duty housing Dave ! Superb !!! ?
