1959scudetto Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Another old build from 1984/85: amt/Matchbox "Pabst" Freightliner converted into a SD version using the drive axle of "Pop's" Ford Louisville Short hauler. Due to lack of reference material (only one b/w photo), this one has a lot of mistakes - definitely a candidate for rebuilding - the weathering is bad, the putty around the headlights has shrunk over time, the wheelbase is much too long, lots of small details are wrong, etc.etc. - you name it! These photos are from 2005 (model was 20 years old back then, I still have it) A truck like this needs doubles hooked to it : 1
kenton44 Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 An old build that looks pretty sweet still. Nice work! 1
grodudulle77 Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Nice build Helmut, this old big rig has an authentic look !! ?? 1
Jim B Posted May 16, 2022 Posted May 16, 2022 That's really well done. I'm sure it takes up some shelf space! 1
happy grumpy Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 That 's a beautiful rig Helmut, the weathering makes authentic. 1
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 I really like this one! I like the weathering! Excellent work! It has held up well! 1

trick my mixer Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 looks pretty good to me. Nice job on this one. 1
OldTrucker Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 Takes me back to the good old days when I first started trucking. Great looking build! 1
Mopar - D Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 Awesome build Helmut! I would leave it just as is. If anything I would build a new one with what you can do today and put them side by side for comparison. 1
Bills72sj Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 Nice rig. The Doubles trailers will be my next big rig project when I get my race car hauler done. 1
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 I like it!! I think that the weathering looks great! Nice work!! 1
1959scudetto Posted July 5, 2022 Author Posted July 5, 2022 (edited) Thank you all guys, for your nice comments on this oldie - the model itself and the weathering leave a lot to be desired (the "weathering" on the roof of the trailers is simply : DUST ! I didn't wipe it off before taking photos.) Edited July 6, 2022 by 1959scudetto
gatorincebu Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 Helmut, Nice work. That rigs looks good from where I am > Be Well Gator
