Or as I call it the “Glutton for Punishment “

This thing had so much flash it felt like I was carving each piece out of a block of styrene. Going to try and make a silk purse out of this sows ear. Undecided on colors yet but hopefully it turns out good.

I built one as a kid and it’s a kit I would like to build again. So I will be watching this one. Is there a blue version on the box art too? I believe that’s what I copied and painted mine light/sky blue

Your biggest problem will be to get the front end to fit and look like it belongs. Some just give up and display the nose "flipped" but I molded mine in and am semi-satisfied with how it came out. It might be worth your time and money to see if you can find a built glue bomb with a 1-piece body on eBay or something and swap bodies. I can tell you I've bought several copies of this kit just for the parts, but I have NO desire to EVER try to build that 2-piece body again.

I started one of these some time back, got fed up, and put it away for a rest.

Let's just say at this point that I have some experience making something nice from awfulness.

The real problem is that the nose just doesn't fit the rest of the body at all, and nothing lines up, no matter how much fiddling you do. It's not symmetrical either.

The only real solution...short of buying a one-piece body and cutting the nose off...is to carefully fit the nose to the body, paying particular attention to getting the tops of the fenders in a straight line first. Then glue it to the body. Sculpt the lines in the coves, get everything else right...and then cut it back off.

WAY more effort than I felt like expending at the time, but I was doing it primarily to illustrate here that it is indeed possible to fix the issues.

If you really enjoy a challenge like I do, it's worth it. Otherwise, it's an exercise in frustration.

What he said. Exactly what he said.

Another idea would be to obtain a cheap, common MPC '60 Vette and swap on THAT body.

Here is what I did, as others said, a lot of work for little reward. I had a stock hood from an original MPC '56/'57 Corvette, so I have fit that to work. The car will be a modified sport drag car if I ever get around to finishing it.

That's a lot of negativity for KEEF, but if he's up for the challenge, I for one will cheer him on!

I love making things fit, even on good kits, they sometimes need some work, so go for it KEEF and post your progress pics!

Yea I’ve always thought it would be a cool kit built. Also have the malco super vette and the street machine series 57. I started mine and glued the front end on and cut the hood out
