Next up on the bench is the AMT 1940 Ford Coupe.  I just finished cleaning all the flash off the engine parts and got the holes drilled for the plug wires.  A nice coat of Tamiya TS-30 Silver Leaf paint will end the day for me.  Supposed to hit 100° today.

This is a great kit from long ago. Look forward to seeing what you do with it.

Thanks Dave.

I know you are Buddy.  What's the odds on me getting through this build without a major screw up ?

I'll be keeping an eye on this one. These years are very versatile for builds.

Thanks Dave.  I'm thinking a mild Street Rod is what I'm looking at.

Started removing a little (a Lot) flash this morning.  Did a little mock up to see what my options are.

Good start. I just picked up the Coke delivery sedan version yesterday at Hobby Lobby. Not sure when I will start on it. The heat is on here and it gets up to about 110 in my work shed.

Thanks James.  That Sedan Delivery is going to be nice.  Yup, stay out of that heat.

I love the ‘40 body shape. This is looking good even before paint.

Thanks Sonny.  I like this body style as well.  I like any fat fender car or truck.

I always enjoy following your WIPs Bob. I can't wait to see where you go with this one.

The 40 Ford has always been a favorite of mine, I'm surprised I haven't built one yet!

Thanks Dave.  I also have a 37 ford Coupe that i'll be building this summer.  Just love the old fat fender cars & trucks.

Since the box art on the 40 Coupe is orange, I'm thinking of some variation of that color.  I saw a video of of a fellow airbrushing Tamiya X-26 Clear Orange over X-33 Bronze.  It made a really nice deep looking color.  I'm thinking with some chrome wheels and a bmf strip down the side that color should really pop.  The color is still not in stone yet.

I think that color will look great on it.

Thanks Dave.  I'm headed to the Hobby Shop today to pick up the paint.  Not sure when I'll get a chance to try it out in the spraybooth.  I need to wait until this heat wave is over with.

I like the color range you're looking at. Since you are testing some spoons consider TS-21 Gold as a possible base coat or even TS-92 Metallic Orange as a single color only.
