Had to stop on the 49 for a few.  Took time to paint a 1/8 427 cobra. For my friend Mark. A big project. A big model. Did not want to mess it up. Very expensive kit. It came out good so back on the merc.

Paint looks great ! I like that you painted the wheels. The black looks better to my eye.

Hello Ray, painted the agora 427 cobra of my friend Mark. Black like the mfh kit I did. Going to look really mean. I have a list of cobras that people all over the world want painted. Who knew this would be something to do.

Well now that the cobra is painted and I put a radiator in my jeep, I can continue on the merc. Put the interior in. Set the front bumper and grill to see what it looks like. On to the body. Not much more to go.

Well here it is so far. Chassis mounted to the body. Still have to put a few suspension things. Bumpers and mirrors, and it’s complete. Oh I’m adding sidepipes. Will be finished this weekend. Maybe. Hot August Nights here in Reno. I am invited from a friend to attend the shows. Arranged the bodywork and paint on this car. It’s been several years but it’s getting there. Has been entered for cruzing.

Lights, bumpers installed. Painting the wipers and mirror black. Sidepipes are black also. Falling into place.

When you first said "side pipes" I was like NOOOOOO. It would not go with the modern look. Then I saw the black bumpers and I was thinking definitely no side pipes. But seeing it now, it works very well. They actually complete the look. Thank God you left them black. I am not a fan of chameleon colors on hot rods, but your Merc looks killer. Great job.

The 49 looks great as well as the Camaro!  Nice paint on the 49 and I agree that the pipes really add to it! Nice work! ??

Thank you ModelcarJR

Great looking Merc! I’m not a big fan of color change paint, but it’s exactly right for this build. The interior looks good, too. Custom but not over done. Perfect stance. Really like this!

I see a couple of these kits finding their way into my stash.

Thank you Street Rod. This is actually my first custom.  Had a idea of how I would want one built and here it is. A cool looking ride with a little horsepower and reliable. I did not know if the old would go with the new, but it seemed to work.

Slowly adding little things as the paint dries. Installed the park lights and rear tail lamps. Air intake. Be adding license plate, mirrors and wipers this weekend. Oh and making a fuel cell as I cut out the gas tank when I modified the frame for the bigger wheels and tires.  anyone remember “blue dots?”

An amazing build with amazing paint work. Everything about this build is something to be admired.

Very cool 1:1 Camaro as well. One of these days........

I've got a 94 C1500 that I've stuffed a 406 small block in that gets around pretty good, but it doesn't have the character that a classic sports car does. I don't see many 327's anymore so that's an added plus right there.
