Just finished this one about an hour ago.  I had to strip the hood and repaint the custom color and I think it came out pretty good.  I used the short block from the kit engine and the intake and carbs are from the parts box.  I wanted to be able to close the hood. I think it looks better that way since this is just a street cruiser Hot Rod.  Other than the upper portion of the engine and the plug wires it is box stock.  I'm pleased with it.

Turned out pretty darn nice. Love the color. The closed hood is a good look. Great save on the hood paint.

It fought you, but the car now looks FANTASTIC! Classic lines, clean build, and the wheel/color combination give it the '70s hot rod vibe that I remember as a kid. Great job on a classic kit.

Thanks Rusty.  Yup, I wanted to build it the way I would have driven it back in the day.
