misterNNL Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Confused can sometimes be a constant state of mind when considering the down side up world we live in today.
ChrisBcritter Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Today, I heard the robin sing; today, the thrush is on the wing...
Tom Geiger Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Wing it if you have no idea what you are doing
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 (edited) Doing a job poorly and thinking it's great...how is that even possible? Edited October 3, 2022 by Ace-Garageguy
BeakDoc Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Possible solutions to existing problems without experimentation are merely hypotheses.
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Hypotheses that aren't proven yet somehow get endlessly repeated as "facts" are one very seriously destructive behavior of mainstream and social media.
misterNNL Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Media is evidently focused on "If it bleeds it leads" for endlessly repeating bad news every hour on the hour.
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Hour after hour of "if it bleeds it leads" has been largely replaced with "if it whines it shines".
BeakDoc Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Shines like a new coin, brass does, if you mix Brasso and Zippo fluid and apply plenty of friction and elbow grease.
NYLIBUD Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Grease is the word,it’s got groove,it’s got meaning….
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 "Meaning" is becoming more and more in the mind of the beholder, kinda like they used to say about beauty being in the eye, etc.; sadly, when word meanings are changed to accommodate dogma, real communication suffers.
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Sources of "expert" information on the internet can be contradictory, and without a well of what used to be called "general knowledge", it can be impossible to tell the bull exhaust from the truth.
misterNNL Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Truth and the content there of is as varied as those proposing to know what that content actually is.
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Is there only one objective Truth, or is it, as some would have us believe, entirely subjective...a gooey morass dependent on personal perspective and other irrelevancies?
BeakDoc Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Irrelevancies and personal perspectives are the things that prevent firsthand accounts that may be very well true from being the “truth.”
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 (edited) "Truth" could once be characterized with examples such as "A is A", or 1+1=2, but there is an ever more vocal group of "thinkers" insisting that a thing is not itself, and that arithmetic and math are not tools representative of (and thereby making possible the reliable manipulation of) reality, but are arbitrary constructs invented by one group to "oppress" another group; how these folks think an airplane flies by relying on arbitrary, meaningless gibberish is quite beyond my powers of imagination. Little Timmy Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Imagination is something I have been accused of having to much of.
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 "Said" is pronounced saa-eed sometimes when it's an Arabic-derived name. 1
slusher Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Name is what everyone is changing the spelling of..
NYLIBUD Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine.
Tom Geiger Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Mine field of dog poop, that backyard of my neighbor!
