spencer1984 Posted July 24, 2022 Posted July 24, 2022 (edited) Built from the Revell kit released a couple years back. I gave it a little more go with a set of heads and carbs from RMoM, a parts box intake, and scratch built dual exhausts. Slight lift in the back, baby Moons up front, shaved door handles, and recessed rear plate to match the movie car. A full writeup of the build is available here, and as always any comments/criticisms are welcome. A couple of pics with my Karate Kid Ford, the kit that was originally slated for this build before Revell released their official version: Edited July 24, 2022 by spencer1984 6
happy grumpy Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 I like to see movie cars especially when they well build like this. Great job.
Dennis Lacy Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Very clean build of the Grease convertible. I have this kit and it’s a bit disappointing that no hop up parts for the Flathead were included so it’s cool to see you added them and a dual exhaust. The recessed license plate is a simple detail that goes a long way.
spencer1984 Posted August 1, 2022 Author Posted August 1, 2022 Thanks! I was also hoping they'd throw in a set of finned heads or the like on the new parts tree. Fortunately there are enough aftermarket and parts box options to fix the shortcoming.
David G. Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 That's a great looking pair of Fords! The interior on the white one is fabulous. David G.
TooOld Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Well done Bill , love the white paint and detailed engine & interior ! Not really familiar with the movie car , I'm guessing that's where the lightning bolts are from ?
spencer1984 Posted August 4, 2022 Author Posted August 4, 2022 Thank you! Yes, they're not my favorite decoration but the bolts were a big part of the movie car's look. As a custom supposedly built by high school kids, I'm giving it a bit of a pass ?
