Dragonhawk1066 Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 I finished the AMT 1969 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 this weekend. I airbrushed on the Delta Ceramcoat Navy Metallic, and used Createx 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear. It was then wet-sanded with 4000, 6000, 8000, and 12000 grit Micro Mesh polishing pads, polished with Novus #2, and finished off with Meguiar's Cleaner Wax. I went with the Magnum 500's and tires from the parts box, and put on some Fireball Modelworks white letter decals. I used Bare Metal Foil for the trim and added heater hoses, ignition wires, door locks, and valve stems for extra details. The last two pics show my current stable of three '69 Oldsmobile's. Thanks for looking! 5

TransAmMike Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 Wow Craig, it looks awesome. Great color. I have that clear but never used it. I'm really surprised it can be sanded and polished. Anyway, beautiful 4-4-2.?

AMT68 Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 That blue just looks awesome. Great job with all of the difficult trim detailing. First one I've seen with the Magnum 500's and a good choice.

The Createx website recommendation is to wait 48 hours before wet-sand/polish, I usually wait 72 just for good measure. 18 hours ago, Nacho Z said: I enjoyed your WIP and know to see it completed is just something else! Thanks, my first car was a 1972 Olds Cutlass Supreme hardtop/notchback, so I too have a big softspot for them!
