Bob, you can sure lay down an impressive paint job.

That has to be one of the smoothest applications I have seen!

You have a real talent for painting.

Thanks.  I really appreciate it man.

I Think once you get the interior in and trim done and a nice set of wheels and tires you will like it more.

I think so to Ray.  Thank's.

Going to be Killer when you get it done.

I started on the foil and not sure if I'm going to do the top trim under the windows but I will get the front and rear window trim.  The foil seems to be going on pretty good.

Amazing how smooth these early Mercs looked even with a basic stock body and skirts. The paint looks great.

Thank's Dave.  Yeah, I love the body lines on the old Merc.

Not much going on with the 49 Merc.  I've been on vacation so I'm just trying to get my head back in the game.  I did get the chassis, gas tank, and exhaust painted and installed.  Looks like I forgot to paint the front and rear splash pan.  I guess they will get painted gloss black.

I hate when I discover the parts that I forgot to paint!  ?  Your clear coat shine is freaking awesome!  I like the way the paint is looking, distinctive.  Glad you didn't pond it!

Thank's Andrew.  Yup, I'm also glad I didn't put it in the drink.

Well....I decided to go with the 440 cu. in. engine at the last min.  I put the body on the chassis to I could square up the engine before gluing it in place.  Still have to detail the engine bay a little.
