One (or some) older AMT kits included a tubular style stand for displaying the optional engine.

I've found the one made up from 3 flat parts in the shoebox Ford kit, but digging through all the likely candidates I still have here has turned up zilch.

The one I mean came in the '34 Ford truck, shown below.

But I seem to recall it came in others as well.

Anybody?

I seem to recall a similar engine stand in the 40 Ford panel kit. Haven't built it since I was a kid, but there is one of those stands kicking around my parts box, and I think that's where it came from.

Found a reference link, and found that most of my kits that had these things have already moved West.  :(

Also found one, all I need, in the old Lindberg-boxing of the AMT '34 Ford pickup.   :D

That V-shaped stand in the foreground is a '49 Merc piece.

The style that came in the '34 pickup also came in the '40 Ford kits.  The delivery is pretty much the coupe with a different body and interior bucket, so of course both have the same one.  I believe the sedan has one too, in the same style.

Right now I'm drawing a blank on the Deuce coupe and roadster.  The Victoria, phaeton, and one-shot stock sedan have the style pictured, the two behind the '49 Merc stand.  I'm drawing a blank on the '36 Ford too, but I don't think it has one.

Those stands with the mounting pins are the most useful, as you can set a partially assembled engine/transmission into those, even ones without those mounting provisions.  Most of the other stands require either some glue, or extremely good balance, to hold the engine and not let it fall off every time you turn around.

Do you need them Bill. I think I have some.

Thanks, but no. I found the one I wanted, and a few others thanks to the responses here.

But seriously, thanks anyway.    :D

I have all the styles posted in the above photo, the most useful (to me) is the flat bottomed with three posts, I add some fun tack to the posts plop the engine in place and use it to hold the engine in place while I add details or mock up details.
