bluestringer Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 My wife wanted me to build this, and wanted it pink. It's a nice kit, went together well, nice details. Paint is Tamiya X-17 pink. Lots of small fiddly parts can easily slip out of your fingers and get lost, I did drop a few but managed to find them. All comments welcome and thanks for looking. 5
TransAmMike Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 Great job on the little fella James. I do know what ya mean about the "fidly" parfts. I did mine as a kind of a hot rod. Was fun to do. Looks terrific?
Joe Nunes Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 Nice looking model for your wife. Was good of you to build it for her. ? Joe
happy grumpy Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 Always nice to see a bug. This is a good kit, I built several as well as tamiya's 66. I like the pink idea. really good job on this build, like the movie; pretty in pink.?
Zippi Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 Nice lookings VW James. I'll bet your better half digs it.
Andrew McD Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 Nice job! It's curious how different light and different computer monitors effect the color we see. On my screen the VW looks more orange than pink.
Slotto Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 Neat little bug. You scored some major points with the wife I bet
Calb56 Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 I hope she loved it, you did a great job! You done her proud with that build...and man, that's one pink bug!!!
XYHARRY Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 Nice build James. I'm currently building the Tamiya 66 beetle and enjoyed following your wip. Cheers, David. ??

Could be my camera, I need to check the settings. 13 hours ago, Slotto said: Neat little bug. You scored some major points with the wife I bet Thanks. espo Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 Great looking paint finish and trim looks really clean.
TooOld Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Great looking Beetle James , I like the pink and that you painted the rubber seals . . . Great Job ! One suggestion is to find some small diameter wire and make your own antenna , that monster one really looks out of place .

I'll remember that next time.

I started using a straight pin. Cut the top off with a wire cutter, drill a tiny hole where you want it and a dab of glue, push it in.
Street Rod Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 Super cool! Like the smooth paint and the detail work.
Rattlecan Dan Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 Nice build. Don't think I've ever seen a pink one. Looks nice.
