I love Derek!

I've gone down the rabbit hole of YouTube "restorations" lately so I've seen quite a bit of his videos.

I like the mid engine theme.. would be interesting to see what folks come up with.. but it may eliminate some guys with average skills

How so? It's open to all mid engine vehicles... go pick a lambo or something and be all set...

We need to narrow the list down some. Typically we have everyone post their top 3 and the five or so that get the most votes get made into a poll.

That sounds sensible for sure.

I like pie.

I like pi pie. It’s the same, only never ending.

My top 3 would be: Moonshiners, Delivery and Music-themed.

Gee, a build for Lambos... that would be boring.

I was thinking more along the lines that we'd be building custom chassis for a mid engine

Well sure... but the "rules" would also allow the less advanced to participate with an already mid engine vehicle was my point.

LL3 is correct. The theme's only requirement is that the vehicle be mid-engined. How the vehicle becomes mid-engined is up to the builder. This leaves a large scope of possibilities for the builder: everything from a box-stock build of a pre-existing mid-engined vehicle (Lamborghini, Ferrari, Toyota MR2, Lotus, etc.), to full custom builds where the engine is relocated from its original position to a mid-ship layout.

Good idea. Perhaps, we can post our lists until the end of the month, November 30th. At that point, a poll can be issued and voting can begin.

Maybe do them kit car style, say a Countach with an LS Chevy, or a Ferrari with a Coyote V8.

A Prova Countach... a man would have to really take his time and mess up the panel gaps and make the windows look like they were installed by an 8yr old with a caulk gun ?

Keep in mind too that "mid engine" can be mid front as well. As long as the engine is behind the centerline of the front wheels it's considered mid engine so Ford model Ts are technically mid engine by a strict interpretation of the definition.
