Bills72sj Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 My sister took all the transparency slides that my Grandpa took starting in 1962 forward. I found these little gems while perusing the library. 7
TarheelRick Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 Some really nice pictures of the way drag racing used to be. Love that T altered and the Jeep pickup in the background of the first picture of it.
Joe Nunes Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 Sure brings back some memories. Thank you for the photos. ? Joe
Straightliner59 Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 That track is still in operation, too. Love the straight 8 D/D!
roadhawg Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 Now this is cool stuff! That little yellow altered is just begging someone to build a model of it! Thanks for sharing!Â

plasticprime Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 Great photos! Would like to know how you digitized them from the original slides.

I am not really sure. My younger sister spent the time and effort to convert 35mm transparency slides to digital format. I am talking like 3 decades worth.
'70 Grande Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 That straight-8 looks gigantic in size; I wonder where that 1:1 motor came from?

They made them from around 1930/31 to 1953. It is probably a 320 cid, or at least started out that way, which was the biggest factory version.
larman Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 Love that yellow altered! Thanks for the pics, I can look at old drag car all day!
