asfastasu Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 This is nicely done ?. What paint did you use in the body? Is the interior a dark blue? I wouldn't think that a blue interior and orange exterior would work, but you have convinced me otherwise!! Great job!!
Rattlecan Dan Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 Very Nice Work on both. Fine attention to detail. Clean and great attention to trim work. Thanks for posting.
Bainford Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 Beautiful Esprit! The S1 is my favourite of the breed. You’ve done a lovely job on this one. Very clean. The colour looks a great match for Colorado orange. Fantastic! Love it!

Roger U Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 Beautiful builds nicely detailed and great paint.
Ulbo Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 I like it with the magazine on the back... model looks great and both of them?
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 So much to see and appreciate. Beautiful cars. Noticed the small Union Jack on the dash of the Lotus. Love the orange paint and the panel line detail. Not familiar with the Maserati parked next to it but a believable pair.
XYHARRY Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 Nice. Very sharp on both models. That orange is gorgeous. Well done Thomas. Cheers, David. ??
happy grumpy Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 Nice Lotus, great choice of color. The Maserati is cool too.
beeRS Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 Both are beautiful. Interesting to see the styling similarities between the Esprit and the Boomerang.
89AKurt Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 Very nice! I just talked about getting the Boomerang, have you posted that before? I understand it's a tough kit to look right.
70 Sting Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 Well now, that looks very nice! I’ve heard of fit/ride height issues with these kits… certainly not seeing it here. Nice to see it other than white.?
cifenet Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 Classic and beautiful! They are nicely put together. Thanks for sharing the models!
Tommy124 Posted April 24, 2023 Author Posted April 24, 2023 (edited) Many thanks guys. Glad you like it! On 4/16/2023 at 4:30 PM, asfastasu said: This is nicely done ?. As regards the interior, there were many unusual colors available. And it was the mid-70's, so... ? For solid (non-metallic) body colors such as yellow, orange and so on, I often use spray cans from the DIY-market. They are a lot of paint for little money. And the quality is good, sometimes not even a clearcoat is required. See my yellow Dino 246 GT. On 4/18/2023 at 7:45 AM, 89AKurt said: Very nice! To be honest, I find these old kits easier to make them look right than so many modern ones that are unnecessarily complicated. And you're right, I have shown the Boomerang before some years ago. It was a restoration of my original Airfix/ Heller build from 1990 (?). Getting the Boomerang... they are hard and expensive to come by these days. SMP24 released one years ago. They also made a lot of other 70's dream cars available in kit form, however they are VERY expensive. https://www.scalemates.com/brands/smp-24--6562 Myself, I still have the 1:16 from Revell.
