ewetwo Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 Latest build. Monogram 1958 Thunderbird. I had to glue the doors shut because I broke a hinge on each one. No painting except for the chrome highlights. Doors are glued shut because I broke a hinge on each door. Tried to fix them but couldn't. 5
Andy Oldenburg Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 Sorry for the doors... A fine looking build. Just the right color and a great shine. Cool shop diorama too!
ewetwo Posted May 3, 2023 Author Posted May 3, 2023 Thank you Samuel and Andreas. I can't take credit for the color or shine. It's the colors the plastic the kit is made of. Green and black. I used the chrome pen and a coat of Pledge Revive It on it. Revive It does a nice job with colored plastics.
slusher Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Great looking Thunderbird, David! I have been wanting to get one of those 58 Thunderbirds.
TooOld Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Well done David , the polished plastic looks great ! This Monogram kit stands up well for it's age .
ewetwo Posted May 4, 2023 Author Posted May 4, 2023 Thank you James, Carl, Chaz. Tom, Bob, Chris, Phillip and Bob.

happy grumpy Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 That's a great looking bird. If you haven't said it wasn't painted, I wouldn't have guess it wasn't. Beautiful build, I wish they re -issue it , providing the molds still exist.
Sidney Schwartz Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 I built one of those a while back and it was not easy. You did a great job on a difficult kit.
espo Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Every now and then you can get lucky with a kit done in colored plastic, and the color looks good. The chrome trim really makes this standout.
