Excellent and interesting build. Years ago I remember seeing a VW pickup with the fold down sides with a tent trailer removed from its frame mounted on the back of the VW which made a very effective fold away camper rig.

Wow, this is ingenious! Can you put some potatoes on the grill for me? Sorry, I'm a veggie...

Hi Oliver!

Chef Claude will see to it that you have delicious cracking veggies! Thanks for the comments!

Thank you David, looking to the fall shows to see how fellow modelers react to it...

Thank you Phil!

You are right... all kinds of contraptions have been home-built on commercial vehicles for the sake of economical traveling. Mine is just one more LOL.

Well done, please. I may look like a caveman but I don't eat like one. ?

Personally I've always been able to get by with a plain old pickup topper and a sleeping bag (maybe augmented with an air mattress if I was feeling swanky) but that looks like a far more comfortable setup.

I agree about the virtues of basic camping... but I needed a building challenge, hence the fold-away cabin.

Thank you Bruce!

To your question: I realized long ago that an inordinate amount of time spent can often compensate for natural abilities. And my wife would tell you that I spend WAY too much time at my bench.

Mix the two, and you have your answer LOL.
