ModelcarJR Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 (edited) This MPC kit has a few shortcomings but I persevered. Painted with Testors Icy Blue to get rid of that can on the shelf and a black interior. Kit decals were OK but didn't quite fit the contour of the window. I pinned the exterior mirrors and I'm glad I did because the decals have to go on first and the mirrors go through the decal. So I didn't have to get glue on the decal itself. I used a more colorful Roadrunner decal on the front and rear that I had from Mike's Speed Shop. You probably can't see it very well due to my poor camera. Goodyear Polyglas GT, L60-15s were included in the kit so I took those for a future build and substituted what I call Goodyear "Ghost Letter" tires from the parts box. It will make a decent "shelf sitter". Thanks for looking! ? Edited June 25, 2023 by ModelcarJR Copy text 2
KWT Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 That came out great! I think the color really suits it. Very nicely done.
bisc63 Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 Another great example of what CAN be with a plain kit in the right hands! Great looking model, and plus 1 on the color choice; it looks perfect for the car!
Rattlecan Dan Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 Really nice job on the build, nice detail as well. Good work.
karbuildr Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 Very nicely done. Great color, good work on the decals.
espo Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 Beautiful looking paint color and finish. Like the stance and the wheels & tires.
Sidney Schwartz Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 I just bought one of these. What are the shortcomings you mentioned?
