James2 Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 Satin finish with a flaty, and a reshaped roof to represent a Carson top. This one fought me some with a twisted body but I think it turned out ok. I do know one thing I will not wait to glue the fenders on last ever again. 4
Street Rod Posted July 3, 2023 Posted July 3, 2023 Great job! Nice street rod vibe with the satin finish and the wheels.
XYHARRY Posted July 3, 2023 Posted July 3, 2023 That's a clean build considering the trouble you had with it. The colour combination looks great with those wheels and stance. Well done. Cheers, David. ??
Rattlecan Dan Posted July 3, 2023 Posted July 3, 2023 Nice. Very subtle looking street-rod. Good job.
Koellefornia Kid Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 Very nice fat fendered rod! Love the carson top!
James2 Posted July 4, 2023 Author Posted July 4, 2023 Thank you for the comments, everyone. The top is the kit piece, I chopped it about 3 scale inches and then rounded it as much as I could. I painted it and the interior Tamiya Racing White and then covered it in Flat Clear and some blackwash to give it a little life. The body and chassis was painted Tamiya Pearl Green TS60 w/ a 40% clear coat by Model Car World Finishes, it's made for the military modeler but I like how it gives a satin look. Except for a few gentle mods and a kit bash engine, the rest is stock, Thanks again...
ncbuckeye67 Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 Love the color. Especially the satin finish! I can't stand "patina". I'd definitely rather see a nice satin look, than clear-coated rust any day!
