'70 Buick GsX

Continuing on with my Monogram era run

Paint is Tamiya Metallic Orange over Mr Hobby Black Surfacer. It gave the orange darker look.. and Tamiya matte black for the mid section of the hood.

I never got around to building this one back in the day. And for whatever reason I've tried since getting back into the hobby, I start one only to have it go sideways. I finally finished one.. have to say this was a nicely designed kit.

I know we all know the base affects the outcome, but it amazed me just how different the orange looked from grey to black primer.

Yeah, it definitely changed it for the better! It now has more of a Dark Copper look to it.

Beautiful color, one of my favorites, and finish. The GSX graphics look good. These cars were often underestimated when it came to drag racing.

Looks great and I love the color! I love seeing these in other colors than the yellow and white that they were made in. I did mine in Tamiya TS-42 Light Gunmetal.

Yeah.. I've seen yours several times and was actually gonna go with that. It just so happens, I didn't have any but had a brand spanking new can of Metallic Orange. I really like that color.
