KWT Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 Started this inspired by build last Friday. Painted the body Tamiya black, taped off and sprayed Tamiya light gunmetal and the Tamiya clear Thanks for looking. Now back to the Monograms... *Disclaimer* This paragraph is mainly aimed at me being able to recall the hoops of the last 2 weeks... for future reference. The anesthesia from my surgery a couple years ago, still messes with me... So we're at trivia night at the pub about 3 weeks back. One of my best friends (whom I work with), during a conversation about hobbies, casually mentioned if she ever had me build a model for her, it would be an Eleanor. I said yeah, I might could pull it off.. the conversation transitioned into something else and the night went on... The next week at trivia night, she told me she had put her 2 week notice in... that sucks, but that's also a completely different story... so I immediately thought, let's build a car. The downside? I didn't have one of these... So research and research and a tad more began...I ended this 2 weeks endeavor with the AMT Shelby, the Revell Shelby diecast, and the 68 GT just because. All these arrived on last friday.. so now I had a week... I wasn't sure if I had time to strip the diecast, and the 68 is the 68.. so I went with the AMT... I don't generally like AMT's, but this one was one of the better one's I've built. I took it to her on her last day, and probably last trivia night for a while. I told her it's not legit, but inspired by... She loved it. Yesterday, the first day of work without... ugh... 7 1
espo Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 Great looking paint finish and color. The stripes are well done, and the wheels look like they belong on this. 1
satterwhite78 Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Nothing is more satisfying that presenting a gift that elicits a smile and a fond memory of a caring friend from then on when she looks upon it. 1
