Kruzn Posted August 24, 2023 Posted August 24, 2023 (edited) Introducing the Copper Coupe! I started this 25+ years ago, then it went into storage while I built other kits and spent time on my many other "hobbies." Got it back out last year determined to finish it. That took a while, but here she is! The body and center frame section were all that was used from the Monogram ZZTop Eliminator kit. Many mods including: - roof molded to the body - molded in windshield frame - 1-piece molded tilt & removeable front hood assembly w/sectioned grill - recessed and smoothed firewall - custom partial belly pan - opening trunk lid with working strut - scratch built trunk with 3D printed fuel cell - custom fabricated hood and trunk hinges - chassis modified with scratch built front and rear subframes - independent front & rear suspension, 4-wheel disc brakes, and rear transaxle, all from the Hardcastle & McCormick Coyote - Chrysler 2.2L Turbo from a Dodge Daytona kit, modified for RWD - aftermarket Fujimi wheels and tires Edited August 24, 2023 by Kruzn update title 8

Matt T. Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Tough ‘80s street rod! I love it. Great looking model.
Horrorshow Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Totally awesome! Really hope it doesn’t take another 25 years to post another
Kenmojr Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 A radical and very well built street rod. Love what ya' done here...
ea0863 Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Beautiful job Dave! I love the color. Did you happen to mention the paint you used? I may have missed it.
Yeah Nah Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Wow! Certainly some time and effort expended on this!
Claude Thibodeau Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Hi Dave! Very interesting mix of parts. The rake is reminiscent of Tom Prufer's famous Cop Shop Coupe, built by Pete Eastwood way back then. Bravo! CT
Justin Porter Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 It's an incredibly novel and well executed build.

espo Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Beautiful looking paint color and finish. The thing that really stands out is the chassis and engine along with the rest of the drive train.
karbuildr Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Ok, when does it hit the show circuit? Looks really superb, beautiful customizing and excellent use of parts.
randyc Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Interestingly, I started an AMT 34 coupe probably about same time and put it in a box. I get it out occasionally. I also used an Arii wheel/tire set but different wheels. Same approach to the build. Except yours is complete and excellent! Mine is still in the box. 1
XYHARRY Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 That's a great looking 34 there Dave. I love the thought and engineering you have put into this build. Well done and thanks for sharing. Cheers, David. ??
ewetwo Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 That is an awesome build. Love the 4 banger Turbo in it.
Koellefornia Kid Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 So cool! These '33 and '34 ford coupes were always my favourite Rods and you definetely nailed it! Very nice work!
