BKIN10SECS Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 Was just curious, does anyone ever lightly mist the floor and walls of their spray booths with water to keep down dust particles? I know whenever I may be at a body shop it seems they always spray down their paint booth.
Dpate Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 (edited) I know a modeler that lays napkins down in his and spray it down with water. Edited September 17, 2023 by Dpate 1
yh70 Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 no never have..i just keep the filter clean and it wiped down with a wet cloth, turn on my blower and blow it out with air in a can before i paint leaving the blower on minuets before i start spraying. 1
Skip Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 (edited) No, I line the walls and floor with white butcher paper which lasts a long time. The booth is vacuumed, then the filter cleaned out after every painting session. Prior to painting, the fan is turned on for an hour or two. This seems to pull any airborne dust into the filters before it would have landed on fresh paint. The cleaner the booth, the cleaner the paint is what I am finding. R. Thorne Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Yes, I always do. Just one of my pre paint procedures.
Bills72sj Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 I line mine with Press and seal film. I also run my fans in advance of painting.

Zippi Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 I first clean my spraybooth with Windex then just before painting I shoot a mist of Windex on the walls and floor. Works for me but everybody is different so it's whatever works.
Nicholas Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 yes i mist water in my spray booth then run it for about5/10-mins before painting (usually run it while i mix my paint)

Does a great job at eliminating dust before painting.
