louis Carabott Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 (edited) This was my first ever car kit ....it was already started by my son ...he gave up and I decided to have a go at it ...this was about 5 or 6 years ago. It's an Airfix kit in 1/24 scale needed much work but I had fun and hence turned to car modelling from ship modeling. Hope you like it Louis Edited October 4, 2023 by louis Carabott 10
Jim B Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 I like it. Really well done. This might be a silly question, but why are there red covers on the headlights? 1
atomicholiday Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 That is a really stunning car. Your workmanship on this is excellent. 1

They were used at night mainly ...the idea came from submariners who seemed to maintain good vision at night with red lighting ....Those on the alfa were translucent covers were supposed to help the drivers at night
Yeah Nah Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Fantastic work Louis. And thanks for explaining those red headlight covers! 1

1959scudetto Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 Very well done, Louis - I have the very same kit in my stash (it is the Airfix re-issue of an older Heller kit) and will save your pictures as an inspiration for my future buidl. 1
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 Big Alfa fan. Your Alfa is super. Lots of details. Thanks for posting. 1
Pierre Rivard Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 This is very very nice Louis, particularly considering that you started off with a very basic kit. Did the clear red lamp covers come with the kit or aftermarket? Wondering because I am working on a 8C Alfa and looking for a set of these. 1
Street Rod Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 Beautiful Alfa! Great paint work with lots of details and just the right amount of weathering. 1
