happy grumpy Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Built last year. What I always liked about Monogram kits from that time was despite their ease of assembly and simplicity, they could turn out into nice, decent models . Being 1/24th scale never bothered me much as Japanese and European manufacturers were making their car in that scale so they fit pretty well together. The Paint is Tamiya racing white. The newer Revell decals went on easy with a little setting solution. I remember struggling with the old monogram thick as hell decals and no setting solution could make them stick. As always thanks for taking a peek. 14
espo Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Great looking paint finish and like the crisp clean looking color. Just the right amount of stripe trim and the wheels set it off well.
Hard_2_Handle_454 Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 I'm not even a fan of 80's cars and I find that beautiful. Nice work. It's different seeing one in a color other than black. The white looks more realistic to the period. 1
atomicholiday Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 That looks terrific. Really nice clean build. Like your backdrop too.?
ksnow Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Great build. The white with gold trim is outstanding.
karbuildr Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Beautiful build. I really like the white and gold combo. Excellent detailing and I like your background. The view through the windows is very authentic. Just enough clutter to make it appear like a working shop.
AMT68 Posted October 17, 2023 Posted October 17, 2023 Great looking G-body Cutlass. Paint, panel lines and decals all done beautifully. These were good looking cars in their day and have held up well since then.
XYHARRY Posted October 17, 2023 Posted October 17, 2023 Nice 442 there Mario. The white and gold go together perfectly. Well done. Cheers, David. ??
Yeah Nah Posted October 17, 2023 Posted October 17, 2023 Super job on this. The gold trim contrasts nicely with what seems to be (maybe the light) a nice off-white.
NYLIBUD Posted October 17, 2023 Posted October 17, 2023 Oh yea,GREAT job.And at first I thought it was real car with the dio that you set up.?

Thanks guys , i appreciate it Gary, you're right Tamiya racing white is pretty close to Wimbledon white which is off white, the low light setting helps to accentuate the effect.
NYLIBUD Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 Yea i gotta say,I’ve always liked the G body cars.A friend of mine has a 1985 Regal. He hopped up the engine just ever so slightly, well actually it’s making like 600 hp to the wheels. He’s had the car since H.S,he is now 53 years old.Very nice car indeed. 1
ea0863 Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 Gorgeous model Mario! But I gotta say, you do such stunning work with your dioramas, lighting and photography that I almost forget to look at the car 1
Rattlecan Dan Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 Nice clean looking ride. Has an anxious stance to it. Classy aggression. Great job. 1
1959scudetto Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Though these cars do not meet my taste, you have built an excellent model here, Mario - flawless paint and crisp details as always ! Together with your superb backgrounds and photographic skills, this makes for an excellent representation! 1
TransAmMike Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Wow, another great looker by you..Great job as usual? 1
