I’ve had some practice with second tries…so I hope so.? 8 hours ago, Steve H said: Dang it !!! That sucks about the paint Greg, especially after foil… This is another fantastic looking build. I think the rallye wheels are a perfect choice on this, they look great. As always you have addressed many “little” issues that combine into a beautiful looking model. What colour of blue did you use on the interior, it’s gorgeous! Cheers, Steve Thanks Steve. The interior is Vallejo Air Russian Blue 71.333. I could have maybe salvaged it, but I would always notice the transition and it would bother me greatly.? On the upside, I managed to save the hood.? Back to square one…dang that Tamiya primer is tough to remove.? Edited November 20, 2023 by NOBLNG 1
NOBLNG Posted November 30, 2023 Author Posted November 30, 2023 It’s back in paint and I’m beginning the foiling process again.? 5
AmericanMuscleFan Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Great work Greg! I really love the 56 Chevy and your new version with the white roof is perfect. I am impressed with how the chrome turned out with this Revell paint, the effect is just right and looks perfectly "in scale'". ?
slusher Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Looking very nice Greg, I have wanted to see it again! Keep up the good work!

While trying to strip just the roof, I discovered that I liked a white roof better. I am re-coating the bumpers, as they got some wear during installation. I bought some of the Spaz Stix clear to use on them this time. On 12/1/2023 at 3:47 PM, slusher said: Looking very nice Greg, I have wanted to see it again! Keep up the good work! Thanks Carl.? Well I am stripping the front bumper again.? I sprayed the Revell chrome straight from the can and got it on too heavy I think. It didn’t look too bad, but after the Spaz Stix clear, it don’t look good no more. Plus it has a bit of a blemish front and center.? I don’t think it’s the clear coat’s fault, but the overly thick chrome. My test spoon looks better….third times a charm they say?. 6 minutes ago, Nazz said: This is coming along nicely Greg . NOBLNG Posted December 6, 2023 Author Posted December 6, 2023 (edited) Well this one I am calling finished.? I redid the bumper twice more. First time I got some “cracks” in the chrome.? So I stripped the chrome in IPA and redid them again. Not perfect, but good enough. I dipped the front bumper in Pledge after a couple days in the dehydrator. The rear I sprayed in place with Spaz Stix clear. More pics under glass here:https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/186808-revell-‘56-chevy-nomad/ Edited December 7, 2023 by NOBLNG 3
TarheelRick Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 Very well done. Nice choice of colors and the wheels are what this build needs. The '56 is my favorite Tri-5 and you have done this one justice. 1
Steve H Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 Awesome build Greg! I agree with Ricky above ^^. 56 has always been my favourite Tri 5 car. The rally wheels were the perfect choice and look killer. The paint really pops with the contrasting colours. The fact that you had to paint/mask/paint/and foil twice and came out with that beautiful finish is very impressive indeed. Looks like the Revell chrome may be worth picking up. Cheers, Steve 1
