disconovaman Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 I finished this 69 Camaro for the 2023 RWYB CBR Community build with days to spare! I used the 69 Revell Z28. I went with a modest Pro-touring style look with the retro boxart. I had this build in mind for awhile because this is sorta-kinda how I built my first Revell 69 Camaro back in 91... Boxart, molded in blue/white stripe decals and black interior ?...I did clear coat the body with Testors clear. I built this one as a tribute to the original... with a modern flare. For the Cannonball Run I chose to run a 6.0 LS Yblock from the 06 Concept Camaro. For the interior I used front and rear racing seats to complete the look of style and comfort for going the distance from NYC to Cali. I used Revell 67 Chevelle rally wheels stuffed inside the MPC Deserter rings so they appear to be bigger. Like 20's and 22's ? anywho, here it is finished in Chrome Blue metallic which is close to Monogram blue metallic plastic and matches the boxart close enough... thanks for looking and Happy Thanksgiving to all and have a safe holiday season. 7
espo Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 Like the stance and the drive train. That engine looks like it belongs there. That shade of blue along with the white stripes looks great together. 1

Thanks, I was surprised how easily it swapped in there. it looked too big in comparison. It fits in the engine bay like it was part of the kit though. In reality it was just a development project with GM that never came to mass production. I like the concept so I went with it.
Koellefornia Kid Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 That‘s just beautiful! Very well done! 1
Yeah Nah Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Excellent job. Good luck with the Run! ? 1
ea0863 Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Fantastic job Anthony! I love the colors and interior in particular. Thank you for posting. 1
XYHARRY Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 I like everything you did on this beautiful Z/28, especially how you made the wheels look bigger. Well done Anthony. Cheers, David. ?? 1
Dragonhawk1066 Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 That looks great! I, too, was planning on a pro-touring build with that kit and engine combo. How was the fit for the engine into the '69 engine bay? 1

The engine works well in the Camaro engine bay without any modifications. There are tabs on the sides of the engine, location points (motor mounts?) They need trimmed off so it sits further down onto the cross member. But that's all I did to make it work... I should've used the rear axle and drive shaft from the Concept Camaro. It would've worked better without having to lengthen the stock drive shaft.

I used the Concept engine in my MPC 1979 Trans Am and it fit in there pretty well too.

TransAmMike Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Good looking '69 Anthony, extra details perfect? 1
