Zippi Posted December 27, 2023 Author Share Posted December 27, 2023 (edited) Well....Christmas is over so I got a chance to get out in the garage and take a look at the mods I've done on the chassis suspension and I didn't like what I saw. The rear end looks ok but I tore the front off and I'm starting over due to the wheel base on the resin body being shorter than the kit body. The leaf springs need to be moved 1/8" back and reposition the riser blocks. I also did a dry fit of the roll bar and it hits the roof but the floor pan is still flat to the bottom of the body so I'm good. The front axle still needs to be glued into place on the riser blocks. I also think I have a color picked out. Testors Gloss Grape. The body is final sanded and all I need to do yet is cut some glass and make sure it lays flat on the inside of the body. Interior is just about done and the radiator is fitting nicely. The contour is totally different on the resin body and is see no way of making this hood fit. What a shame. One note about the wheels: I don't recall seeing Centerlines until at least a couple of years after Cragar's Super Trick wheels. I don't think those showed up until '71 or '72? So, if you're going for the '60s look, you might want to use the Cragar S/S wheels. It was right around that same time the old Gas classes were moved into the Modified Eliminator classes.
