Looking good so far Bob. I've never worked with anything resin, I'll be following to see how it works out. Looking forward to seeing the progress.

Thank's James.  My first time with resin and maybe my last.

As I told you in our PM, the Torque Thrusts or for more vintage look the steelies on front, but with the Centerlines on the rear with the Goodyear Blue streaks.

Looking real good my Friend!!

Yup, think I'm going with the centerline ans steelies.

Well....Christmas is over so I got a chance to get out in the garage and take a look at the mods I've done on the chassis suspension and I didn't like what I saw.  The rear end looks ok but I tore the front off and I'm starting over due to the wheel base on the resin body being shorter than the kit body.  The leaf springs need to be moved 1/8" back and reposition the riser blocks.  I also did a dry fit of the roll bar and it hits the roof but the floor pan is still flat to the bottom of the body so I'm good.

I think I now have the front suspension where it looks good and all 4 wheels are in the centered in the wheel openings.  The front axle still needs to be glued into place on the riser blocks.  I also think I have a color picked out.  Testors Gloss Grape.

Got a little work done on the 51 Henry J this morning.  The body is final sanded and all I need to do yet is cut some glass and make sure it lays flat on the inside of the body.  Interior is just about done and the radiator is fitting nicely.  I'm still scratching my head about the fit of the hood.  In the front the hood does not follow the same contour as the kit fenders.

I added the battery & cables this morning along with a master cylinder.  I've also been entertaining the idea of maybe a candy blue.  Tamiya white surface primer, Chrome base coat, then clear blue.

Taking a better look at how the hood fits up to the fenders on the resin body vs the kit body.  The contour is totally different on the resin body and is see no way of making this hood fit.  What a shame.  No more resin bodies for me.

It's looking good! One note about the wheels: I don't recall seeing Centerlines until at least a couple of years after Cragar's Super Trick wheels. I don't think those showed up until '71 or '72? So, if you're going for the '60s look, you might want to use the Cragar S/S wheels. It was right around that same time the old Gas classes were moved into the Modified Eliminator classes.

Please be careful with this resin work. Wear a mask when you break out the Dremel. The chit chat about the effort and possible hazardous effects to health have me worried for you.

I appreciate the concern dude.  Thanks.

I appreciate it man and thanks for the info.  I'm not really concerned about it being period correct.  Just as long as it looks kewl.
