THarrison351 Posted January 8 Share Posted January 8 Finished this tonight. A little bit of problems with the bubble top. I'll have to live with it. Difficult to find good color photos of how it looked when it was red. I'm painting it like it was when Monogram purchased it from Starbird. I saw the restoration version in blue many years ago at a car show, but took no pictures. This is another kit started back around 1990 and put away. I've also tinted the bubble top. The chrome was terrible, so I stripped it and repainted it with Alclad II chrome. Paint is Tamiya TS95 red metallic over gloss black. Last picture was as found in box. Old masking tape sucks. I have a few more in boxes with this malady. I wish I'd never taped up these kits the first time. That black speck in the bubble is a piece of trash in the plastic. I looked at a lot of photos of all the different Tamiya red colors and ran across one where they had sprayed black before the red and looked so close to the few color photographs I could find. Researching the interior was tough, because no where were there clear pictures of the TV. I googled portable TVs 1950's and an Admiral T102 came up, closely matched, and I'm pretty sure they are the same.
