TransAmMike Posted February 19, 2024 Posted February 19, 2024 My first completion in 2024, tho I started the build and worked off and on since late November '23. The real '40 Ford was probably my first favorite real car when I was a kid so at 77 years old I don't know why this is the first '40 Ford model I ever built. Anyway, just an OOB build using the kit Buick Nailhead and painted with Createx gold over Mr. Surfacer 1500 primer then overcoated with Createx transparent red. Parts box wheels and tires, "shaved" the handles and no vent window. A special thanks to TJ (JollySipper) for sending the taillights that I lost . My last 2 builds Thanks for looking? 13

Dragonhawk1066 Posted February 19, 2024 Posted February 19, 2024 Nice looking! Great color and paint too!
ea0863 Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 Total classy classic Mike, great color choices and stance. Well done!
ncbuckeye67 Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 I love both, but that 40 is amazing! I was leaning towards a box stock build for mine, but I like your street rod version.
TransAmMike Posted February 20, 2024 Author Posted February 20, 2024 I appreciate all of the kind comments Guys?
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 (edited) Great color for a '40 coupe. Wheels and tires look right too. And three twos on a nailhead...what's not to love? Edited February 20, 2024 by Ace-Garageguy

The 40 Ford is also my favorite real car. I am 75 and the first kit I ever built was a AMT Trophy Series 40 Ford Coupe and I have not built a 40 Ford since. Now to your build, to put it simply - amazing. That color just grabs you those 5 spokes just scream "street rod". Absolutely beautiful.

atomicholiday Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 That’s gorgeous. I was just thinking yesterday that I should build a ‘40 for my dad. It’s one of his favorite cars. I think you just pushed me over the edge. Time to get busy!?

bobss396 Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 Over the years I have built about 10 of the AMT ones. I have 2 in the works now, one is in the paint stage. I really like them over the newer Revell kits. I built 2 a few years ago, a Revell and an AMT I showed together at shows.
