Can-Con Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 When I met my wife about 32 years ago. [Wait, that can't be right, can it?? ?] Her brother Mike had a '69 GTX. This a replica I built of the car as a Christmas present for him as it was when he owned it. Sadly he passed a couple years ago but his daughter still has the model on a shelf in a case. This was built about 25 years ago so be nice. There's a lot of things I would have done differently now to correct some of the shortcomings of the kit. 12
Intmd8r Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 I couldn’t tell from your pictures how old the model is. You don’t want to see my builds from 25yrs ago….. looks great to me. Love the Mopar, the color, backstory, and execution. 1
Rattlecan Dan Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 Nice job! Don't tell me what the shortcomings are, because I don't see any. 1
karbuildr Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 Looks darned good to me. Shortcomings? None that I can see. Well done. 1
XYHARRY Posted February 27, 2024 Posted February 27, 2024 Nice GTX Steve, a nice story too. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, David. ?? 1
ncbuckeye67 Posted February 27, 2024 Posted February 27, 2024 Very nice! I love to see replica builds, although I'm envious of the folks who actually own the 1:1. 1
happy grumpy Posted February 27, 2024 Posted February 27, 2024 It certainly is just as good looking today, gorgeous in black and that engine bay is just as great. Models or real, cars bring us memories of people close to us and that is priceless. 1
kelson Posted February 27, 2024 Posted February 27, 2024 Looks good to me for a 25 yr old build and looks better than some kits i've seen built this year.? 1
Steve H Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 Nice build Steve, it has aged very well. Building replicas for people is definitely rewarding. I enjoy doing it myself, and also love hearing other’s stories about replica builds. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Steve 1
atomicholiday Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 Man that looks great. Very clean build.? 1
Camaro lover Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 Looks great to me. I don’t see any issues at all. And that was a cool thing to do for your BIL. 1
