Revell and Monogram has been the same company and under the same roof since 1986, they sold their respective kits under their own brand names for a while but they have branded Revell kits as Monogram and Monogram kits as Revell now and then, more of that lately.
But Revell did never do any kits in 1:24th scale so they are originally Monogram kits.

Definitely an improvement. 

For years I've been thinking that the Monogram '53 Chevy hardtop would benefit with a sectioning like that.

Unless there is a part in this kit that may help with what you're building I would suggest avoiding it if you're hoping for an accurate body shape.

Yup. Might be hackable into a funnycar body, but that's about it.

The rims are nice, the hood scoop also. I’ll build one of I can lay my hands on one, memories from before the acne etc took over.

Call me crazy, but I keep hoping to find one of these at Ollies (they have all the other current Monogram assortment, but for some reason not this one) Not to build out of the box, but throwing the decals, wheels, pipes and turbos at the Revell kit. I know someone on the forum was doing just that awhile back with several of these camaros.
