Duddly01 Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 I finally finished the build of my 2018 Mustang Convertible. This is build 5 of our 5 Mustangs in our family. Kitbash of Revell snap kit and a Motor Max diecast used for parts as well as a lot of scratch built parts. I have been using 3V coin batteries for my LEDs but this build required an A23 12V battery. if you haven’t seen the WIP thread see it here: 7
michelle Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 (edited) Awesome work as usual with these light up models Edited April 3, 2024 by michelle 1
Sledsel Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 Looks great. Love the dash lighting detail. Impressive. 1
ybsluos Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 Donald we should have guessed you own a 1:1 Mustang! Like Michelle said great work as usual. I’ve seen folks do lighting and even did so myself on one of my builds but I don’t recall anyone’s lighting on a model looking as realistic as you do it man. 1
kelson Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 The working lights really standout on this build!,great work!!? 1
espo Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 Beautiful paint finish and color, just like the original. Like the lighting system you installed. 1

I keep thinking making it easier on myself and not adding the LEDs, but I can't seem to stop myself. 16 hours ago, Sledsel said: Looks great. Love the dash lighting detail. Impressive. Thank you, I can't not have the gauges light up if the headlights and taillights are on, right? This one did take a more powerful battery with the parking and side marker lights needing added.

I used actual J7 2018 Mustang Magnetic Metallic touch up paint. Came very thick and required a lot of thinning to airbrush. Then 2K clear and polished. 6 hours ago, Jim B said: Very nice Mustang. Phildaupho Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 Very well done. Love the lights. I have enjoyed all the builds of your 5 family Mustangs. Over the years I think my extended family have owned 4 Mustangs and there is still one in the family a 67 turquoise convertible. 1

Duddly01 Posted July 8 Author Posted July 8 Completed build rotating 360 video of the Revell 2018 Mustang GT Coupe 1/25 snap together model kit and Motor Max Diecast converted to a 2018 Mustang Convertible. This model is curbside but required a whole lot of scratch building to create a convertible with reasonable amount of detail. I added a complement of LED lighting as usual. Replica of our real 2018 Mustang Convertible in Magnetic Grey.
Dragline Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Hard to believe Mustang and Camaro still exist. I am older than them, but not by much. Cool build. 1
