I can't let FedEx off either........I ordered a car part, shipped from a city less than 300 miles away, next state over. 8 days later I got it. LOGISTICS working as designed. Passed through WV twice before being delivered. Sat in Grove City Ohio for a few days.....nice slow vacation......

“me speak no English”

And yet all the Fed Ex shipping labels are printed in English and all the gauges of his truck are labeled in English. I bet his paychecks are printed in English!

I went to the post office not long ago to purchase two money orders for a couple of bills and it was empty. I'm guessing the 100 degree heat that's cooking the Metro Boston area (Today only) is keeping people home. I just zipped in and out of the facility.

I was in a parking lot in front of a small mall earlier today, and a FedEx driver was so aggressively on-and-off the throttle, it seemed like he was intentionally trying to destroy the transmission.

I don't know if it was a technical fault with the vehicle, gross incompetence, or something else.

I am convinced a lot of people believe that the gas and brake pedals are just switches. Full on and full off only.

Funny everyone is mentioning FedX drivers. Just yesterday my wife and I got back from shopping and lunch, I have to get out of her car so she can get as close to the garage wall as possible to allow our car doors not to hit each other's car in the garage. I'm standing just outside of the garage when I hear a sound that I recognized right away. The sucking sound of an internal combustion engine with the throttle wide open. The driver was coming out of the street about half a block from where I was standing and almost didn't stop for the stop sign at that corner, then guns it again past where I'm standing and then blows through the stop sign on the corner where we live. From there it is a block to the larger roadway and out of the area. You could hear him going up the slight grade going up the main road again with the engine wide open. My thought is they are hiring people with little or no driving skills who may have never operated a vehicle with the power of these big 1 ton plus delivery vans. They're "drunk" with the power and the sound of the engine. I would like to be a mouse in the corner when they have to explain to whoever is in charge of the fleet why their rig is broken or run into or over someone.

I have had 2 incidents with things mailed to the house. One was a paint order for my Belair, I had a UPS shipping # and all. THEN... it was somehow handed off to the USPS. It may be a letter-carrier error, nobody is owning up to it. It is not eligible for a claim according to UPS. I'm trying to get a refund through my credit union. The place I got the paint from, they don't answer emails or phone calls. I have a BBB complaint open with them.

The next was a tool order from eBay, less than $20. Supposedly delivered to my house, they can give no proof of delivery. I'm trying to get the seller to send me another one. With that said, if possible I will have anyone but the USPS send me something.

The USPS sucks,in a word.Everytime i wait for a package,it seems to bounce around from 50 miles away from my house, then ends up at another local station. Then instead of delivering it,the package goes to another  station ...My mail does more traveling then  when I was in the service. And then of course it arrives late.-Arfrgggg?

I got a refund on my paint from my credit union, no word on my BBB complaint. I tried to lodge one with the USPS, but was not able to.

I ordered 4 tires on Tuesday from Tire Rack, they were at my house via UPS in less than 20 hours. He also had a box of Rock Auto parts for my Belair. I'd call that stellar service.

I had one instance a few years back, I had a Summit order get hijacked at a UPS facility, my car parts were GONE and in place were plastic PCV fittings, Summit made good on it.

Back around 1975 when I worked for Sears while in college, we had on the crew a bunch of UPS guys. Sears was a part time gig. They openly bragged about opening up boxes and taking god things out, sending them to the address of an accomplice.

I have had more than my share of issues with USPS. And to add to the illogical nature of the USPS was a package I got Thursday. It was some paint from a hobby retailer in Atlanta. Package was picked up Wednesday afternoon about 4:30. Expected delivery was Monday. Thursday morning I get a message 'package delivered'.  OVER NIGHT via this ground advantage service??? I'm happy but WHAT????

I've currently got one from North Carolina that made it as far as one of the local Ga. distribution hubs 40 miles away from me, and is now in Phoenix, Az. You can't make this stuff up.

I have another package I am expecting "today". From eBay via UPS, another hand-off to the USPS system. I really don't get that logic at all. It was transferred from UPS to the USPS yesterday at 1:48 PM, too late to go out for delivery. I just checked, status is the same, confidence is not high.

Got to the PO as the doors opened this AM. System was down.

Hung around, finally got a supervisor to, apparently, manually check where my "delivered" package went.

He said it went to #### Addison Rd., instead of #### My Rd., and that he'd get my regular driver (who is very good but was off yesterday) to retrieve it and get it to me.

On the way home I drove all the way down Addison Rd. There is NO ####.

We'll see.

I've had packages from UPS handed over to USPS before. What's annoying is when you see the UPS truck come by and you hope later that day your package will show up from the mail carrier. Doesn't always happen.

I still don't understand the logic with this delivery procedure.

FOLLOW UP: My VERY competent regular driver tracked down the missing shipment and brought it to my door. It seems every day he's off, my packages go astray. So I asked him about it.

His answer: "It's just what I have to do sometimes, but it's not the same job anymore, and nobody wants to do it. We have to work with what we can hire."

I currently have 26 items coming from all over the country, all scheduled for delivery this week.

We'll see...

EDIT: The shipment that diverted to Arizona on its way from North Carolina to Georgia did finally arrive here, so there's that...

We take our cars to an independent repair shop who also has the contract for the Fed-Ex trucks.  He says the things some of these drivers do to the trucks defies logic.  I believe you are correct that there is some gross incompetence, but there seems to be destructive intent as well.

14 arrived today, which is good.

One of the others has been within 30 miles of me since the 6th, bouncing around local/regional facilities, so that may be a problem.
