k357 Posted March 19 Posted March 19 We've had major problems here in Tallahassee, major enough that my Congressman had to get involved.. Personally I've had things like packages of all kinds show up say, 10 days late or so.. I had that happen with a shipment from Hobbylinc. I went round & round with the district supervisor over this, she attempted to bully me which didn't work, THEN I reminded her that not only do I contribute to her salary, but I WILL be on the horn with congressmen's office as soon as I got off the phone with her, THEN she accused me of threatening her, & I capped it off with,"this is being recorded RIGHT??? Who's threatening who?". Oh yeah, if you send mail to a Tallahassee Addy. it goes to Jacksonville first, then back to Tally.... It gets better, I'm in the midst of a trade with fellow member & I printed the postage/addy slip at home & personally deposited it in the secure portal, its kinda like a drum half the size of a 55gal drum cut in half, bearings on the ends with a handle, mounted in a steel frame in the wall, from there I guess it drops into some sort of a cart, well guess what, the tracking # hasn't been scanned yet, if it's not delivered by the end of the week I'll do what I have to make it right THEN fight it out with USPS , luckliy it's not a rare kit.... This level of incompetence just totally p----s me off.. 1

We have a bunch that don't give a doodah..
HomerS Posted March 19 Posted March 19 My employer mailed out about 50 checks on February 25th. As of today, 40% of them have not been received and will likely need reissued. 1
Tom Geiger Posted March 20 Posted March 20 I did the annual NNL East postcard mailing on January 15. Usually 2-3 days later people are posting about them on social media.. this year nothing! It was taking 2 weeks for people on the East Coast to receive them. I started getting Return To Senders almost immediately.. First I saw none of them had been postmarked! That’s close to $1000 postage that could be reused! Next as I looked at the reasons for the returns.. “No Such Address” “No Such Number” I started looking up the addresses and found both USPS and Google Maps found them. Google Street View found houses! I emailed a few and people said yes that was their current address! I sent the cards back out and didn’t see them back again. And 2 months later I’m still getting random Return To Senders. I don’t dare remove those folks from the mailing list since they could be good addresses! If you are on our list and didn’t get your card let me know!
89AKurt Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Took a whole week to send a check from AZ to AL. I just sent a one day Priority that took two days, and cost over $31. Ever since they changed to "Forever" stamps instead of the actual amount, it's gone stupid. And we are supposed to trust them with our vote. 3

Until I fall off my perch. Even at that there's no absolute guarantee you'll be counted accurately, but at least one layer of incompetence is avoided. (This is NOT a "political" reference. It's recognizing rampant incompetence and uncaring in every facet of life, including the USPS) Edited March 20 by Ace-Garageguy 4
Miatatom Posted March 20 Posted March 20 I placed an order on Monday from Oregon. It's out for delivery today, Thursday. Pretty good.

We had a recall election here in California in which the ballots were mail in or drop off only. I took my wife's and my ballots to the County Registrar of Voters' office and placed them both in the drop off bin at the same time. After the election, I tracked our ballots, hers was counted, my ballot was deemed "not received"... I LOUDLY oppose anything but in-person voting at an official Polling Place. 2
Tim W. SoCal Posted March 23 Posted March 23 (edited) Well, folks, it ain't just the USPS that suffers incompetence. I ordered 2 gallons of Valvoline automatic transmission fluid that are not available locally from WalMart.com on Friday, March 21. I was VERY pleasantly surprised when I received text notices a little after 7:30am Saturday that my order had been delivered. The box would have been a bit heavy, so I didn't expect my wife to take it into the house and certainly not carry it from our front porch to the garage, so I expected to find it still on our porch when I arrived home from work. When I got home, no box on the porch... I called my wife and asked her if she'd seen a shipment from WalMart and she hadn't. I then tracked the order, it WAS delivered "at or near the mailbox" at 7:29am, in FLOYDS KNOBS, INDIANA. I don't know where Floyd's Knobs is in Indiana, but it is definitely NOT in Southern California... I then contacted WalMart customer service to find out that WalMart.com had shipped my order to the wrong address. Edited March 24 by Tim W. SoCal 1 1

Ace-Garageguy Posted March 24 Posted March 24 (edited) Guess I spoke too soon, as apparently the local PO has gone back to using the driver on my route who can't read English street names and understand numbers. Edited March 24 by Ace-Garageguy 2
LennyB Posted March 24 Posted March 24 The Post Office just keeps getting better and better. Sold one of may spare kits on eBay for what I paid for it. After eBay fees and all it was a loss. Post office says they delivered it but they buyer says he never got it. Whether it was mis-delivered or stolen off their porch who really knows. After an investigation the PO sends an apology letter admitting they screwed up but doesn't take any responsibility for the missing package. Their advice is to contact the company he bought it from they will understand and send you another. So the PO expects others to pay for their mistakes. You would think the least they could do is refund the shipping they charged. 😤 3

HOPEFULLY, with Luis DeJoy on his way out and the current administration and DOGE breathing down the USPS's neck, things will improve in the not-too-distant future... 1
TonyK Posted Monday at 05:59 PM Posted Monday at 05:59 PM This past week I've had 2 shipments from 2 different companies get here 1 day before the tracking had it listed. Amazing. Things are going to start changing for the better? Or is this a fluke?
Monty Posted yesterday at 12:34 AM Posted yesterday at 12:34 AM Living in a small town in the heart of the Midwest, I've used eBay for most of my hobby purchases for years. Most sellers try to be very prompt when shipping your product, but since the USPS became the default delivery system, stupidity reigns supreme. Here's my latest example: In Transit to Next Facility April 27, 2025, 2:25 pm Departed USPS Regional Facility OPA LOCKA FL DISTRIBUTION CENTER April 27, 2025, 5:28 am Arrived at USPS Regional Facility OPA LOCKA FL DISTRIBUTION CENTER April 26, 2025, 1:11 am In Transit to Next Facility April 25, 2025 Arrived at USPS Regional Origin Facility LAS VEGAS NV DISTRIBUTION CENTER April 22, 2025, 6:13 pm USPS picked up item LAS VEGAS, NV 89147 April 21, 2025, 2:48 pm Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item LAS VEGAS, NV 89147 April 20, 2025, 1:54 pm Nevada to Florida, apparently bypassing the entire Midwest. I had another one that was at a hub three hours away, so knowing how things used to work, I anticipated delivery the next day. Nope. Went from Colorado to...Salt Lake City, Utah. Eventually it made it back here. Over the last few years, most of my other shipments have been complicated by ping-ponging between hubs in other states. I had one shipment bounce back and forth in Philadelphia for three days before someone allowed it to escape and actually hit the road. St Louis and Omaha are almost as bad. I've heard the USPS is begging for another raise in stamp prices. Sure, why not. While you're at it, chance your symbol to one of these: https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...f4ed8ea44a.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...0482d149e3.jpg 1
Ace-Garageguy Posted yesterday at 01:21 AM Posted yesterday at 01:21 AM Surprisingly, the PO has been knockin' 'em out of the park for me for the last several months. Every now and then they seem to have the need to run back and forth between 2nd and 3rd a few times on the way, but everything has managed to make it home in "reasonable" time. Still, every time I have to order anything that will be shipped, I cross my fingers (but I don't hold my breath).
