Thanks.  Just a beautiful paint to spray.

Looking great! That is an awesome kit. Wish they would bring it back out. Nothing like a bright Red 57 Bel Air. The one I built using the stock kit based off similar tooling as the street machine

Thanks man.  Good looking 57.

Zippi, love the red. I'm kind of partial to red. My 60 Vette is red and so is my daily driver, 2016 Toyota Corolla S....

Thanks.  Yup, love the red.

I sent Splash Paints a message about cure time on their paint and got a quick response.  I was told that 2 hrs cure time was more than sufficient.  I let it set for 24 hrs before I started.  I left my compressor set at 21 psi (about 17-18 working psi) and mixed the 2K Urethane and catalyst at 3:1.  I started out shooting my test spoon to see just how much clear was coming out.  I then started out with a tack coat and let it flash for 5 min.  I followed that with two wet coats letting it flash 5 min between coats.  The test spoon really helped because when Splash Paints says wet coats they mean WET coats.  I had to really lay it down heavy to get that wet look I was looking for like I do when I airbrush my Tamiya X-22 clear.  I got a little trash in the clear so I'll have to do some wet sanding after the clear has cured out for 72 hrs per Splash Paints recommendation.   Overall I'm satisfied with the Splash Paints products.  We'll see once it has cured out and I can wet sand and polish it out.

Wow, that looks really nice with the clear on it. Hopefully the wet sanding goes well. That red really pops.

Thanks Kyle.  I'm going to let this set for a few days before I start wet sanding.

That red is really looking great Bob. Can’t wait to see it after the chrome is done!?

Thanks Greg.  Yeah, the chrome is going to really look nice.  I just hate doing that much bmf.

It looks great, bang on color choice!

I remember when this model first came out in 1998 or so, and almost nobody knew what a cool kit it was. This is one I wish they would reissue, just as it was.

I went out and picked up this respirator at Home Depot.  Thought I'd better get one if I'm going to airbrush anymore lacquer paints and 2K clear.

Nice detail work on the engine and a great color choice with excellent an paintjob.

That's going to be one fabulous Fifty-Seven Bob!

That clear looks like it went down amazing, I know your history with paint and it definitely looks like your doing something right now. The engine also looks cool with the black valve covers, aluminum heads, and the dual quad setup looks great.
