I have pictures, I'll get around to posting them later tonight.

On the news front the C8 Corvettes should be in stores in a matter of days.

The Stranger Things kits (all 3) are looking like late Q4 releases.

On the soon to be reissued front there were boxes for the upcoming '70 Shelby. Also for the '70 Charger which I don't remember seeing announced as a reissue, but certainly something that's been due to be repopped.

The other items of note were the test shots for the Stranger Things kits.

First up the Camaro, which has a new top mold insert created for the body to get rid of the T-Tops from the venerable Monogram kit. All the other parts appear to be the same as the past releases of the 3n1.

Then the VW Type 3, which has one new insert created for the roof sign, and stock NA bumpers and the lower radiator grille which isn't in the original tooling.

I don’t watch Stranger Things, but I’m in for one of the VW buses!

If it’s anything like the Revell ‘68 Beetle then I’ll definitely enjoy it - those basically fall together

Wow wow wow.

That Blazer is.

IN.

SANE.

Those frame rails alone are a tour de force.

Everything else is just as stellar.

Thank you, Revell, for going the extra mile.

And running up that hill.

Some Thoughts on the Blazer.

Notice the ICM style Multi-part chassis with the separate side rails and Cross members. The Light bar looks good but at only 3 (?) parts is simplified, but I note that the parts for the bar are included the base kit sprues, so any future versions of the kit will give you all the Police parts, as it looks like the radios are in one of the chrome sprues. I like the tread detail on the spare tire, and the Tires themselves look very good. Note too, that the grille is on it's own small sprue, so that by swapping out just the grille sprue, you can depict a different year Blazer. This is thoroughly Modren Tooling, well up to 21st Century standards.

AS we so often note on this board, no modren Model Company tools up a new kit without having plans for multiple versions in mind. When the Stranger Things licensing expires, I expect to see this released with different decals as a Police/Sheriff Blazer, or with added parts, (Brush Guard, Winch, Extra Gas Cans, Driving Lights, and more Aggressive Tires & Wheels) as a Full Blown Off Road Machine. Or something else. Maybe in Forest Service, or Fire Chief Markings...

Anyway, I  predict that we will see other Kits off this tool, but It may be a few years before we do. But, I don't Think Revell spent the Tooling dollars for a One & Done kit.

Monogram's classic car kits had multi piece frames, as did AMT's '70s vintage '23 T.  This is what they have to do if you want channel sectioned frame rails.  It does look like an impressive kit.

Any chance they have a copy of decal sheet on display?

The T3 tooling is a Revell Germany item from the early 1980s when that van was new, I'm not sure I'd classify it as anything near "falling together" if you've ever built Revell Germany tooling from that era. It's been reissued multiple times, most recently last year. This version just has the S.T. specific parts added.

Put me down for a couple of those Blazers. I expect the 3D community to develop different grilles for it to depict all of the 81-91 model years. And I am sure the likes of Fireball will be busy with wheel and tire combinations and possibly lift kits to give us options.

And if Revell can get that Camaro kit out before Round2 gets the long delayed reissue of the 78(?) Camaro kit, they can probably forget about selling as many because that Camaro kit looks to have 3 different hoods/build options.

My model budget will take a hit later this year with all that is scheduled to hit, but it will be worth it.

Canuck 3D has those grilles now, albeit for the MPC tooling...probably will work here also.  https://wylde.ca/gm.html

Agreed on the Blazer, I'm surprised how detailed they went with the kit but in a good way!

The previous releases of the Camaro are 3n1 kits, so it appears they kept all the parts in.

Side note: is anyone else amused by the Blazer parts tree that is basically a giant grid? It seems like a lot of extra plastic, but they must have a reason for doing it that way.

The Charger box art is Very Good. That will sell lots of kits. I like the way the car jumps out at you. I think the Decals this time around may be better.

I don't recall if previous versions of the Monogram '79 Camaro had 3 hoods?   Been a long time since I've built one...IIRC, I built the one in the 90s w/ the yellow car on the box.

I don't think the Camaro ever had a base Camaro hood.  It's always been issued as a Z/28 that I can recall.

The "grid" parts trees for the Blazer kit will probably minimize ejector pin marks on those small parts...smart move on Revell's part.

Those look like typical Revell of Germany parts trees made to fit the flat boxes.

Just the box.

The reason I asked is, because I'm wondering if this time Revell includes the C-stipes or not.

Thanks for the report, James!

That Blazer is going to be a big seller for sure.

I wonder though about the VW van. I love it, but hoping the price is significantly less than the recent RoG VW T3 van. It's a great kit, but not cheap.

Exceptionally pleased by the K5 tooling. It looks to be - at least on a superficial level - on the same par as the '71 Mustang with nicely designed pieces like the HEI style distributor and the steering gearbox.
