nickfzr61 Posted August 6, 2024 Posted August 6, 2024 Started my Diamonds are Forever 71 Mach 1. Going to follow the movie car except I’m going to build it as a Ram Air car. 1
nickfzr61 Posted August 6, 2024 Author Posted August 6, 2024 Scratch built the underhood ducting. Not sure if it will fit with the air filter. If it doesn’t I’ll just use it for any pictures of the engine compartment with the hood open. 8
LennyB Posted August 6, 2024 Posted August 6, 2024 Interesting idea, I'll follow to see where it goes. I also find it interesting that the box art show a Galaxie Police car following the Mustang. AMT makes the Galaxie in a Bond theme. Can we get Revell to do the same????
mrmike Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 It appears that AMT and Revell are producing a few similar themed kits and I don't know where they are getting the rights to produce them.

The valves and hoses aren’t scaled right. Should be smaller canisters with thinner vacuum lines. Busy finishing up the motor now. Pictures soon. 2

I airbrushed Tamiya Flat Aluminum on the valve covers but I’m not happy with the way they turned out. A printed carburetor would be nice but you won’t see it with the air filter so I didn’t bother. 1
stavanzer Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 Your Engine Finishing skills are First Rate. It looks very sharp. 2
nickfzr61 Posted August 29, 2024 Author Posted August 29, 2024 Almost done with the interior. Wasn’t happy with the dash so I reshot it with semi gloss black and tried again. Much happier with the results. 6
Moparman18064 Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 Looks great to this point. Engine details, interior, thumbs up!
DJMar Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 That looks killer! What a great color combo for the interior. The engine is looking might tasty, as well.
vamach1 Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 Looking great and I am biased when it comes to Mustangs but this is one of the best new kits to come out in a very long time.
rv1963 Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 Great work on your Mustang, you have a added a lot of nice details.
ModelcarJR Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 Looks great, NicK! I like what you have done to both the engine and the interior. Looks top notch! ?
nickfzr61 Posted September 3, 2024 Author Posted September 3, 2024 Thanks all. Appreciate the comments. Some shots of the interior completed. 5
nickfzr61 Posted September 8, 2024 Author Posted September 8, 2024 (edited) A few more. Getting ready to assemble the chassis. Edited September 8, 2024 by nickfzr61 2
nickfzr61 Posted September 8, 2024 Author Posted September 8, 2024 Chassis is done. This kit has been a pleasure to build so far. Wish they were all like this. 4
nickfzr61 Posted September 8, 2024 Author Posted September 8, 2024 Test fitting the body to check the stance. I think it sits pretty good. 4
nickfzr61 Posted September 19, 2024 Author Posted September 19, 2024 Started on the body. Scribed the panel lines and sanded. Airbrushed a 1:1 mix of Mr Finishing Surfacer 1500 Pink and Mr Color Thinner. First time using MR Hobby products and I am very happy so far. 3
peteski Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 This is turning to be a very nice build Nick. I like it! One thing that bugs me a little is that with all the extra effort you putting into this model, I'm curious why you left the power steering and alternator simply hanging by the V-belts? Shouldn't have been too difficult to fabricate some simple brackets. I'm probably one of the few people that even noticed it. Other than that, the level of detail is outstanding.
